It never happened. Only TSJ visited Lao Mu before he died. All were dead except Tian Er who was in her 80s when XY met her again in Qing Shui Town. Tian Er and Chuan Zi had several children and grandchildren. Ma Zi and his wife looked after Lao Mu until he died and they too had children and grandchildren. The reunion was sad as Tian Er only recognised her when XY turned her back to leave the place.
Get ready for a box of tissues for that scene if they have it in the drama.

In the novel, he refused to touch her for two days following their marriage until she threw herself at him on the third day. Then, while they were having sex, he called XY's name. That was it. Xin Yue hated XY since then.
After that, he would only visit her palace once a month. She would never be able to walk side by side with him or spend every night with him. None of the women in his harem were treated like the way he treated XY.
XY also annoys Ah Nian. In the end, Ah Nian went above her by just ignoring the miserable woman.
CX at least was able to manage his harem without issues.

- He never knew who his parents were from the moment he was hatched from the egg - He had to fight in order to survive when he was a slave - He is now fighting a losing battle for the sake of paying back the kindness of his adopted father - He loves XY but he cannot get involved with her knowing that one day he is forever tied up to his adopted father's kindness
XL should have seized the moment when he sabotaged XY's marriage and just told the adopted father that he had done enough and would love to enjoy his spring time after making a deal with TSJ to supply the losing troops for the next 37 years!
