Agree. Once the game of thrones kicks in, the story in the novel is not as exciting as it used to be. But, the drama is good for picking up the right scenes to shoot.

This one is better than Immortal Samsara. I gave up IS after three episodes. The ML is so wooden.

LYF's plots are well planned and the pace of the drama is smooth. IS - I struggle to follow the plot. I work 9 to 5 so I only have time for easy plots and good acting from the actors.

Zhang Wan Yi as Chang Xuan in LYF is the best actor in this drama.

A poltical marriage. CX unites Hao Ling and the Middle Plains by marrying both women. Ying Xue is a former princess of the Chen Rong state.

Ying Xue actually realised that she had never known the real CX until their first night together as husband and wife. He rejected her.

When they consumated their marriage, it was dark so YX never saw his face but she could hear him calling XY's name during the session. This is the bargain she had asked for so she couldn't complain at all. He treated her with respect during the day but at night, XY was only in his mind.

He pushed XY to TSJ and FL but never wanted her to marry either one of them. That was the plan.

I can't stand Xing Yue and her pouts. She becomes the Empress in Chapter 30. Ah Nian becomes another CX's Empress in Hao Ling in the end.

The ML is OK but I love the story as I've read the novel. So, I'll watch it.
