The characters keep bragging about Qu Jian's death but I never saw it!

Feeling cheated , tbh.

Nonsense. I am flying to China to find a rich Chinese man.

But, on the night of the massacre, he was in a party in the middle of a river nearby.

I actually find this drama more exciting than The Prisoner of Beauty because TPOB keeps dragging on about the romance between the two leads.

This one isn't. The storyline is good. Romance is light not too focused on the two leads.

Chu Huai Ming died on the way to his exile! Not surprised. But, Qu Jian's death was never filmed and shown

Liu Yuning is a good kisser!

No, she asked and he agreed. Had he not agreed, she would have no choice but to comply.

The problem with Xiao Qiao in this drama is she has no kids with Wei Shao. Once she has one, she'll think like Grandma Wei ie. only her husband and children who matter to her. She would be willing to fight against her family if she had to make a choice.

Uncle Qiao was dead against sending the reinforcement to Wei while Father Qiao was supportive and Grandpa Qiao neither here nor there!

In the end, Xiao Qiao's little hands threw down the two tokens which influenced Grandpa Qiao's decision not to send the reinforcement.

So, if Uncle Qiao was supportive, Grandpa Wei, Father Wei and Bogong would not have not been killed.

I want them to be together. They look cute together!

I think Wei Yan will submit to Wei Shao when he becomes Bianzhou's Duke. He will never betray Wei Shao even though he loves Xiao Qiao.

He was going to burn her portrait but he couldn't do it. Had he done it, he would have compleetely moved on from the incident.

But, having him returned to Bianzhou and becoming an heir is a good decision too because when Wei Shao unites the central plains, he would face less opposition.

He did say once he was also fighting against Bianzhou during the battle 14 years ago.

They trained together as a soldier when they were young.

The Wei State is adapted from the Qin State.

She is a simpleton. She is not someone who can see the big picture. In the novel, she married Wei Shao and was completely isolated by Wei Shao and died in misery. Her entire family was destroyed.

Da Qiao forgot that wthout Wei Qu's presence, that enemy's general would have conquerred Boya.

Xiao Qiao's mistake for forgetting that once she was married to Wei Shao, she should ensure everything she does must benefit Wei Shao.

Wei Shao could kill her and her uncle would just send another woman to Wei Shao as WS has the military strength, not Yanzhou.

I thought Grandma Wei was going to play a prominent role but in this drama, she is like a stopper for Mother Wei to stop the latter from saying the wrong stuff.

Da Qiao in the novel plays a small role. Almost insignificant.

In the nove, the FL died on the day Wei Shao invaded Liangya. He only saw her dead body for the first time and thought she was a beauty. His wife, Da Qiao had long died and Su Erhuang was his Empress when he became an emperor but he never favoured her.

Bi Zhi removed Qiao Fan's dead body from her isolated grave and fought with Wei Shao after that. Wei Shao died eight years after uniting the Central Plains. Just like Qin Shi Huang Di.

LYN is a good kisser, though, compared to other C-actors.

I find TPOB also suffers from the dragging problem: this time, it's the built-up of their romance. It's just way too ridiculous for a Duke during a warring period to allow his new mare to take a year of abstinence to mourn over the death of her maternal grandfather when the most important task of a new bride is to breed a new heir to the Duke.

I find the script is written for entertaining purpose. Unlike The Legend of Zang Hai, I find some scenes in TPOB annoying and dragging too much on the built-up of their romance.

We are already in Episode 29 and they are still dragging on the romance. In the novel, it was straight into the bedroom aerobics and Wei Shao had to find ways to trust Xiao Qiao who never came up with strategies to protect Yanzhou regardless of how many times he slept with her.

What Wei Shao said to XQ in the drama was right: he could just seize Liangzhen and Yanzhou and deal with Liangya if he wanted to. XQ never saw that except playing her little tricks. Which I find very annoying. Wei Shao could have just executed Xiao Qiao on the spot had he wanted to for being a spy of Yanzhou. He was being lenient with her.

Not only that, Wei State is now in danger and exposed to potential attacks from Bianzhou and Liangya. Xiao Qiao is an idiot. If Wei Shao dies and Wei State falls, she would die along with Wei Shao and his family. Her family might let her live but she would have to live at the mercy of her family. So, she never thought of this. Wei Shao was right from the beginning: she had to live like a Wei family member, not as a Qiao from the moment they got married.

Qiao Ci was raised to be the next Duke of Yanzhou so he learnt a lot from his grandfather. His uncle is useless and he was the one who caused the death of Wei Shao's grandfather, father and brother.

Yup. he and Eddie Peng are weight lifting maniacs in real life.
