I see your point and to an extent it feels like he’s favored more, but I think it’s because of his willingness to work hard. All the help he was getting was just pointers to help him control his power. Of all the students he’s the one that didn’t have that solid base to begin with. He was more of the hand to hand combat guy with no actual knowledge of his power. So he needed more help in that aspect. Situ had that and he had the potential to be just as strong, but he was too consumed with envy to brush up on it. Example: when the teacher was helping ml control his power he was thinking ml was getting extra teaching with the staff, in all honesty ml already knows how to use the staff, he just couldn’t control his qi. It was more of a misunderstanding that led him astray. If you compare the two, they both don’t have parents, they both have uncles or aunt that raised them, and Situ has a cousin while Xy has a brother. Why then did ml turn out better than Situ? It’s because his will for justice and honor isn’t the same. While I agree that Situ didn’t get much affection from everyone around him it’s more because they can sense his jealousy through his actions. I think it’s human nature to gravitate towards those that are willing to accept help and are humble than those who seeks help to show off. Yes the system did fail Situ because they ignored the signs that he needed help mentally. So honestly I think this drama was great at pointing that out, society and mentors should’ve picked up on signs like these to prevent someone from falling deeper into their darkness. Love and mental support plays a big part in real life. It’s a great way to bring that to light. Thanks for your input about this drama.
I thought Neo looked so good in BFTB. But damn he looks otherworldly in the reuters of his upcoming xianxia drama…
He’s so cute in those photo’s though! Lol! BFTB team did an awesome job with make up for the casts! They went more natural, which supports my thinking that Neo looks very good with minimal make up. I’d wait and see if after camera lighting, and editing, how he will look in the new drama. Still pictures and videos can look different.

I respect your opinion, but I have to say he did very well with his acting. Having read the novel he’s on point with how I imagine Tianyao would be, not to mention he has to switch some of it as the screen writer changed up some of the materials from the novel. When it comes to chemistry, they have it in the bag. This drama isn’t heavy on kissing because it wants to showcase connections from the heart. Their forehead kiss I find was sweeter and more intimate than lip kissing lol! Thanks for your opinion however, it’s always refreshing to hear from a different perspective.

I really respect your opinion and glad that you point out the likes and dislikes. I watched both as well and I enjoyed both very much. For me TTEOTM was more heavy on the drama and a bit more for mature audiences. While BFTB has more humor and in a sense breaks away a little from the typical Xianxia. I started BFTB not knowing the story or realizing who starred in it, but was very invested in the story because it’s so light hearted. I liked that their love was not rushed and was rather really pure, also they’ve come to accept each other because of all the hardship they went through together. All in all both were good, the casts were wonderful at playing their roles, but I will rewatch BFTB before TTEOTM. Not gonna lie I have a soft spot for Neo more than the other guy lol!

It’s the make up. I notice it too, they didn’t do a great job at contouring his nose. Either that or the lighting. I can say this because I contour my nose often to make it appear smaller, sharper, and to give the illusion of a higher bridge.
This was quite good! I really enjoyed it! The fight scenes were well done! Love hand to hand combats with a touch of gun fights! Man Neo looked good in the fight scenes!
