You can take your time watching it. I was overwhelmed by the total number of episodes at first too. But now, I can't believe I've reached Season 3 in the blink of an eye.

You should try.

The kdrama remake has an advantage in terms of visuals and surgical scenes. That's given since the original was released in 2012 when camera work and editing weren't as good as they are today. The acting of some minor characters wasn't that great either.

But the FL is really fun to watch. Her sismance with the anesthesiologist is also one of the things that keeps me hooked. No matter how much the remake improves in terms of production quality, it's still hard to skip watching the original.

Back here because Season 3 is giving me so much fun. It has improved so much compared to the previous seasons. Better medical cases, better acting, just better overall. I'm so glad I made it this far.

Also, Michiko Daimon is helping improve my self-confidence. I don't want to be the "I never fail" type like her, but her positive personality is really growing on me.

Maybe because in all the remakes I've watched, the personalities of the original main characters have always been preserved. They've only been toned down or changed slightly, but I can still see the similarities. But in this Doctor X remake, the FL feels like a completely different person. That's the only reason I reacted that way.

Well, after watching the kdrama version up to Episode 2, I decided it's not for me. Not necessarily because they changed the FL's personality, but simply because she doesn't click with me. She doesn't excite me. So I'll just continue watching the original.

You might find the personality of the kdrama FL boring if you watch the jdrama. Or maybe that's just me.

For me, the extent a remake should be allowed to change is the plot and its scenarios, but it should never change the soul of the original FL. Otherwise, they should have just made a "spinoff" of Doctor X instead of a "remake".

KJW should have played Gye Su Jeong as another Doctor X connected to Michiko Daimon (since there are actually multiple Doctor Xs, not just one person). Gye Su Jeong and Michiko Daimon could be acquaintances who know each other from somewhere, something like that.

A spinoff would actually have been a better move. They wouldn't need to copy the medical surgeries featured in the original series. They could come up with new medical cases, introduce different characters, and of course, create their own version of Doctor X. I just can't see it as a remake when the main character's vibe is no longer the same.

Note: This is just my personal opinion on remakes.

True. I want to understand that this is a remake and that they don't want to copy everything from the original. But I do wish that instead of changing the FL's personality, they had changed the medical surgeries instead. They should have come up with new medical cases instead of copying those from the original. They should have changed other things, but not the very SOUL of Doctor X.

Yes, I understand that we all have our own preferences. And a remake can change something from the original. Just personally, I like childish and cheerful characters. I like people who seem to have a positive outlook on life. Even if the story is about a terminally ill person, for example. I don’t like someone who are too serious.

That's why I enjoyed the jdrama more because Michiko is always smiling. That's just my preference.

This isn't as great and realistic as Code Blue and Tokyo MER (my faves), but I still enjoyed watching it because of Michiko Daimon.

The kdrama version may be better in terms of medical surgeries and video quality. The operations are shown in greater detail. In the original jdrama, they rarely show the procedures.

However, I don't find the kdrama FL's personality likable. Her cold and harsh attitude seems forced.

I enjoyed watching the jdrama more because of Michiko Daimon, regardless of its dated video quality. Her childishness and bluntness are what made Doctor X iconic. It wasn't actually the medical aspect that made the series famous before, it's her character.

I also like some of the supporting characters in the jdrama more, especially the anesthesiologist.

Don't worry. Many will bring it down because they believe the jdrama original was better written. And many will overhype this just because it's a kdrama and they're KJW fans. That would balance out the rating. That's the truth here on MDL and other sites.

You'll only stress yourself out more if you expect everyone to share opinions that you agree with. That's MC syndrome. Just let people say what they want. Everyone's entitled to it.

Don't get mad when people say that the FL doesn't feel human or comes across as too stiff or too cold. Again, it's criticism and it's their opinion. I personally feel the same way.

It's really easy to tell the difference between KDrama and JDrama styles. This felt 100% like a KDrama because of the director and writer, even though it's being broadcast on Japanese TV.

You have the correct app. Too bad. Maybe it's blocked in USA. But I can't find Code Blue anywhere other than this app.
