Weird! Because I was thinking how come people are way too nice to this series compared to others! I only saw like…
Thank you- finally someone with more of a neutral perspective!! It's because there's a lot of users in this fandom that are immature and will actively flock to attack people for having different tastes and opinions.
I've been here since the beginning, even way before the series premiered and have legit only seen 3 comments (plus that one hate comment that everyone's talking about, which is still legit someone's opinion which they're entitled to have and express on this discussion board) saying that it's boring or not for them; these comments have their been pretty open and acknowledge the goods and respectfully give *their own* constructive criticisms. Each time, multiple users then come for OP and insult them as an actually individual; which is just not okay. I say people in this fandom, because I've seen people on other platforms as well saying that "The Sign is hands down the best series ever... if you have two brain cells." which is completely unnecessary and is something that I honestly find very childish. People are allowed to have and hold different opinions, that's life and there's enough space for each and every of them at the table. This is the only comment section that I've seen on MDL where there's no room for even the slightest of differing opinions so I'm assuming that a lot of the users here are probably new and very young. Even highly beloved, award winning titles have a mixed range of comments below them and I frankly find that beautiful! I normally add my thoughts on series here in the comments as I welcome a discussion, however I've been avoiding this particular comment section because I've noticed an obsessive hive mind like mentality that I can only describe as "toxic positivity". Agreeing to disagree is one thing but you can't get anywhere trying to talk to people with no arguments, who are just here to bully and call names. If it's not praise, then it's toxic🙄. Everyone needs to remember that we're all here because we're passionate about dramas!
As for my thoughts, it's a pretty interesting show and is honestly such an ambitious project so big props to IDF! I love that it covers thai mythology but underneath the unique novelties, the aesthetic shots and the chemistry- the flashiness of it all, if u will- it's decent but is falling flat for me. The writing and storytelling isn't great, it's the same issue that I had with GAP; it's trying to do way too much without the quality writing aspect that's needed to bring it all together for what the production really deserves. I've currently lost interest in The Sign after ep8, it's missing something. But I like this series so I'll probably pick it back up when I'm more in the mood to watch it. I am happy to hear that so many people here are enjoying it so much, I just wish that there was more respect (with actions that reflect it) for differing opinions here on this page.
I believe it's because this series isn't 'original domundi', they were just paid to produce it. It should be easier…
Yeah that makes sense, it's for Channel 3 but I also didn't notice that it says it's a Mandee production so it really isn't very DomundiTV besides Poppy...
A bl,from china?woah, must be out of china or something
It's being co-produced by China and Thailand so it's likely a thai project that will be filmed and potentially post-productioned from China. Like how for example, Wuju Bakery is a thai-korean co-production.
Yeah usually shows especially gmmtv BLs, only have 21-26 Qs but I'm guess the almost doubling of Q#s is due to the fact that there's 4 main couples and that there'll be 16 eps total
