I don't think it's the case. He thinks it's like a joke. Since this is fantasy xianxia drama, it's overly dramatized with the reason for childhood abuse. I got it as a drama viewer. Not as a person.

I came from similar childhood experience with Ye Tan. I am not okay with any of this shit (reasons or for her sake blah blah) it's all bs.
What really worst about this father is not just mistreatment, plus it's discrimination and prejudice.
The void father and heavenly father treated all their respective children at least fairly (if it's mistreatment, all siblings went through similar thing). If both my brother and I were mistreated by parents together, it's still not the worst. But, if my brother is treated so well and received so much love, if only me was mistreated, this is the worst case of childhood trauma.

TBH I don't like how the writers decided to whitewash too much on Ye Tan's father, to even seem like he is the father of the year at the end, lol..

He moved too quickly? fickle? It's how the plot is written and there are only ten episodes in S2. What do you want to do with him? How long do you want to drag? Till the end?
Jang Uk being like this is not Jae Wook's fault. He didn't write the scripts right? It's all the script writers' plan. Please separate the actors from their characters!
And, low budget is real in S2. We all could see the difference in CGIs, costumes, etc..

It's not how it works. His wardrobe doesn't even get better until the end when he is not depressed anymore. He only has 3 outfits in this season.
Uk is the master of a very rich family who got the whole group of maids to take care of him. There's still Kim Doju besides him. It doesn't make sense about this much low quality of wardrobe anymore.

Yes they messed up in scripts. I could actually forgive them if they could at least bring a good wardrobe to Uk. I was just speechless with this low wardrobe quality.

Yes. I love the black color too, just the wardrobe quality is really poor. It's a mystery how only Uk got this cheap outfits.
