The points bothering me too. Ironically by keeping him from becoming the tyrant she knew, she was doing what she…
Exactly. She’s not a historian who will know every detail about the particular era. Like a normal person, you will know just the important facts about what happened during a particular time period. even if you know, she needs an evidence to prove it. Initially, the king thought that she is not in her right mind, so even if she told him anything, he would just consider it as he considered her saying about she’s from the future.
As for people calling the king “stupid” because he couldn’t piece the clues together, like the consort’s scheming, the Prince Jesan gochujang incident, etc., I don’t think that’s fair. We, as viewers, have the advantage of seeing everything behind the scenes, their private plotting. The king doesn’t. That doesn’t make him stupid; it just means he doesn’t have the same information we do. He acted like a foolish person all along, so regarding the incident, you can give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was just foolish enough to hand over the gochujang. But of course, that doesn’t mean he wasn’t wrong. About the Chinese clue, the FL did tell the king later, but that same day she was kidnapped and he rushed to save her, so a lot was happening. Honestly, that makes it understandable why he couldn’t connect everything right away. He’s known the prince since childhood, his father’s brother, so for him to suddenly suspect him out of nowhere would actually feel sloppy, like the writer was forcing the plot instead of letting the king figure things out naturally. Even the grandmother didn’t know what was going on.
This is just my opinion though, and I’d love to hear other perspectives if you see it differently.
A lot of people are shocked about how Episode 11 took such a turn. But honestly, wasn’t this what we were expecting all along? From the very beginning, it wasn’t just about her cooking or the romance, it was also tied to his throne. We knew it would come down to either him turning into a tyrant who kills his family, or Prince Jesan scheming to dethrone him by any means. So for me, Episode 11 wasn’t really shocking, I could see it coming.
why are people saying she shouldn’t change history? she loves him and doesn’t want him to kill his own family members. what’s wrong with that? she’s trying to make him a better person. i don’t find anything wrong with it. at the same time, some are saying that why she isn’t telling the king that people are working against him. how can she? does she has a proof? does she know exactly who? no. she may know the major events that took place during his reign but it’s not a guarantee that she will know who is scheming against him. even if she does, then proving it would be difficult. King knows consort kang was behind the scheming but couldn’t do anything about it because he doesn’t have evidence.
Why did they have to kill Chen Zhou and Shi Rong? I really liked how episodes 38 and 39 focused on them, but I couldn't stop crying. Why did he drink the poisoned wine without hesitation? Even with less screen time, I became so attached to them. I love them so much and would really like to see them again, maybe in a prequel or some other drama?
