It could be because he doesn’t want to show her he has any feelings towards her. even during the marriage day he told her to keep the ring safe, it will be useful if the rightful owner returns. it’s kinda hurtful.

Hope he has some genuine reason for neglecting her all these years.

one theory could be in-a being an accomplice. her sudden return when someone is threatening sae-on doesn't seem right.
also, to not get married she told him she would reveal their (baek family) secret.
i think she is the only one who knows that it was sae-on's idea to swipe the bride. so, it might indicate he cares for her. that's why hee-joo is the weakness.

the family secret that i could think of:
1) related to real sae-on. maybe he murdered someone. young sung-woo saw something at his home. maybe that?
2) sae-on being adopted or illegitimate child.
it could be either of the two, or both if they are interlinked.

one more thing., it could be possible that the chairman knows the secret. that's why he agreed for bride swipe. otherwise, who wouldn't want her daughter to be married to a presidential family/for political gains?

It maybe because he thinks that he is the root of the problem, if he isn’t there, then he would be recognised as the son. That is one reason. Other could be if it takes him down, then the father wouldn’t have anyone to rely upon for his political career, which is very dear to him.

Involving hee-joon must be because the real sae-on probably thinks she is his weakness, and he would try to negotiate with him using her over something. We didn’t see much of his interaction with ml because hee-joo stole the phone. As of now, we don’t know what his demands are.

Actually, both the ml and fl family knows about switching the bride. So probably, his mother would have told him (real son).

1) In Episode 4, when he is interviewing Hee-joo, it seems that he understands her. It’s difficult to explain how he knows that she sometimes makes signs before he speaks if he doesn’t have some knowledge of sign language.

2) In Episode 2, during the party, Hee-joo curses at him at the end, and he responds by asking, "Did you just curse at me?"

From these scenarios, I feel that he may not be fully fluent, but he is at least somewhat aware of sign language.

It’s the typical K drama plot that the rich son has psychotic behaviour and maybe has hurt or killed someone. that’s why he’s sent overseas, so that he won’t cause problem for the family. But now they want someone who can continue the legacy, which sae-on would (he could be adopted or illegitimate child). And the mother finally not able to control her rage, decides to take a revenge or destroy the father’s career.
Also, it seems like they have a loveless marriage.

Personally, I think the father has abandoned the real son, and the real son has come back to take the revenge. He acted in his own for quite a sometime and later after the explosion news her mother somehow got to know it. Because the way he was chatting with the person seems like someone close.

Also, just as sae-on stated no one is aware who is his wife? So looks like someone from the family itself is behind all this.

i think the the person behind all this is real sae-on. In episode four, we can clearly feel that ML is not the real son and just a substitute. how?
1) during the childhood flashback, ml’s mother state that my son likes fish. In reality, sae-on doesn’t.
2) after meeting their parents, sae-on told hee-joo they are the kind of people who will replace their child.

Now possible reasons why real sae-on is doing this could be:
He was kicked out of the family, so he wants to take the revenge. As for the reason why he was kicked out, it seems like his psycho and portray psychotic behaviour. maybe because of this reason, he wants to take a revenge on his father. And the best possible revenge would be sae-on because he is the next presidential candidate. He is basically going to inherit whatever belongs to baek family. That’s why even the father is pressuring him to join his presidential campaign.

But it seems like he (real sae-on) isn’t the only one behind this. her mother’s behaviour also seems weird. How?
when she was reading the news of the explosion, she didn’t told ml’s father and even tried to hide the news from hee-joo’s mom when she was trying to glance at the phone. Also, she was the first woman negotiator as well as has a background in criminal psychology. (it’s just an assumption because her mother seems a bit sus to me.)

I read somewhere, both sml and sfl weren’t there in the novel.

That’s what i think. It would be a disappointment if he hasn’t. He has liked her and is in love with her for 20 years.

No, I didn’t drop Queen of tears. It was quite good. I watched it on going. I dropped perfect marriage revenge after a few episodes as well as secret romantic guesthouse(I forgot that I watched it). I haven’t touched upon Marry my husband. About twinkling watermelon, though I haven’t watched it, but while it was airing I saw so many reels that I quite know the plot and the story, basically everything.
