the courts need iron-clad proof to dish out a sentence and this shitbag with his shady legal teams and private "verification" companies could easily squirm through a system that sides with the rich and powerful.

ip addresses can't pinpoint someone's actual residential address. it's only useful for an approximate location, which is actually a neighbourhood terminal. and then the ISP would have to be reached to request specific info about that particular block of address used by a specific user at that specific time. and you can only do this with a court order...

in ksr's case, their case is weak because of the many loopholes in the korean judiciary system. it doesn't mean the law doesn't exist—but it's weak af and difficult to prosecute, which is why the petition is ongoing to close the gap further by again specifying an older age of consent.

that's not true. china does not tolerate the rich taking advantage of the poor because of its socialist system. each and every powerful politician or celebrity had been sentenced heavily. corruption cases often end in death sentences. kris wu was sentenced to 13 years. compare this to japan and korea where sexual offences only carried up to a maximum of 3 years.

this is such a typical example of wealth and power tilting the legal system. korean law often protects its elites and not its common folk. what a garbage system.
its libel laws are used aggressively by celebs and politicians to silence accusers, even if the claims are truthful, just because these truths "harm" the accused.
i really can't imagine why would this entire country of ordinary folks subject themselves to such an unfair legal system. they're not exactly uneducated.
