So I saw some complaints about: 1. Styling 2. Pobmek not bringing Solar back to hospital 3. Pobmek not telling others about Solar
Now, I won't say that what I'm going to say is really the director's intention, but here's my take on those matters.
First, their styling is obviously very intentionally unrealistic. It was supposed to be telling the audience that this series is a mix of fantasy and realism, and therefore everything happening in the series wouldn't all be realistic. This kind of style is unique to Dome, the director, which can also be seen in his previous work, Peaceful Property, although it's indeed tamer there than in LYT. If I'm not wrong it was like that too for his part in MuTeLuv.
Second, Pobmek was dealing with a seven years old who was already scared, and he already had a hard time controlling him. How was he supposed to force Sun to go back to a place that made him so scared that he was even willing to go with someone he didn't know? Sun had an adult body, Pobmek couldn't possibly carry him forcefully, and it'd only make Sun got even more scared and everything worse. Also, the doctors had ran tests and confirmed that he was physically okay. There's no way they didn't ran full test on his brain when they knew he hit his head. Also, again, this is a mix of fantasy and realism as implied by the way they dressed. When the doctor said that everything was okay, we're supposed to believe that he was truly physically fine. Which means Solar's state could only be psychological.
Third, when talking about characters, we shouldn't only talk about what they're supposed to do, but also consider their personality and state of mind. Pobmek didn't immediately call Solar's mom so she could talk to Sun because he didn't know if the mom Sun meant was really Solar's mom. Talking to someone he didn't know while saying it was his mom would only freak him out even more. He didn't tell others because he had been suffering from inferiority complex, forming a high wall around him, which made it hard for him to show his vulnerability to others, including asking for help. Solar was really the only one he let in, the only one he felt safe with because he didn't even feel safe with his own family. Which was why he was really lost and scared when he realized Solar had really turned into someone he didn't know. His mind was all over the place, trying to make sense of the situation, dealing with Sun, and being scared of never seeing his Solar again. He still couldn't believe everything that had happened, and admitting it to others would've made it feel real. He only had time to process and accept everything while he cleaned up afterwards.
It has an open ending, I found it to be a bit sad, but other people consider it a happy ending.(Spoiler ahead)Basically…
Well, her whole story is made to parallel that tale, so I doubt they'll change the ending. Otherwise she'll no longer be the gyeongseong mermaid. I just wish for a clearer ending for Uihyeon.
It never wants to be Khemjira lol. Why the need to bring up other series? Why the obsession for competition and…
Just be proud that there are people who feels threatened by the 3 minutes pilot trailer of this series that doesn't have a script yet (not even a director lol), one that's shot in a single day without much preparation.
It never wants to be Khemjira lol. Why the need to bring up other series? Why the obsession for competition and comparison? Honestly this kind of behavior only screams insecurity which is so embarrassing, especially since this series still only released pilot trailer yesterday and won't even start production in probably more than half a year lol.
I was worried when I saw New Siwaj was directing. If you've seen UWMA and Absolute Zero, you know he has a tendency…
I have mentioned it before that this series have the best post-production among all of his series, and turns out Parbdee is the one handling it instead of his usual team, that's why the editing is good ππ
This series might have the best post-production among all of New's series. I wonder if he's using a different team for this series. If he is, please just stay with this team. Anyway it's been good and fun so far, I hope it'll stay that way. And can someone please save JJ from New, I'm scared he's gonna die from being single and third wheeling for the second time ππ
so. first of all, happy birthday, santa !!! secondly, do i understand correctly that due to the fact that santa…
I think you mistook this with Fourever You, that series is the one being postponed because the actor cut his hair. Santa cut his hair because they have finished filming the scenes for their college days, probably for flashbacks or something. They might still have to pause filming though, because Perth is going to be away filming Scarlet Heart for a while.
Just watched it for the first time and I love it. This drama touched me in many different ways. I love how humane yet refreshing the characters are. I love honest this drama is despite hiding so many secrets. I love that this drama showed how each people handled loneliness and sorrow differently. Dong Jin's mother was the worst, but I even felt a little bit bad for her. I love how Woo Joo's family still treated Dong Jin warmly even after finding out who his mother was. They didn't even want to sue his mother because of him. I mean Woo Joo also played a part in it, but it only showed how open-minded and full of empathy they were. I was especially touched when their mother told Dong Jin she would cook anything he wanted to eat, he just needed to ask. In a way she was telling him she was ready to embrace him as her son, but she understood that it might still be hard for her children to accept him, especially Hyesung, so she didn't say anything more and just left it all to them. Also when she said she felt bad for Dong Jin for having a mother like Heeja. She didn't say it to spite her, but because she truly felt bad for him, not only pitying him but the kind that made her felt sad too. Of course I love the main characters too, but she's my favorite along with Ji Goo. Anyway love this drama so much! If I have to pick one thing I didn't like though, it would be that Sunwoo ended up with Minyoung. I have nothing against Minyoung (anymore, at least) but idk I just wanted them to stay platonic.
I know I should never put my expectation too high, but ugh... the actors, the director, everything that has been shown so far, how could I not ππ
Saw some sneak peeks and it's so good already π« PERTH IN GLASSES EVERYONE!
Ikr, love the way it's so colorful yet subdued. The set is so realistic, in contrast to the unique props (GMM will definitely sell that umbrella though π€£). Every frame is truly an art.
