44 episodes in, i m not able to ship anyone seriously in this although I enjoy the drama n the frndship between them. The intense love we wish to see in such dramas is lacking somehow. It's not slow burn even, it jst lacks love intensity, storywise. Maybe it's becos the SML also is doing so much sacrifices, equal to ML n sometimes more n have many scenes with fl that it takes away the charm from the love story of the leads. I wanted to enjoy the chemistry between leads but not able to sadly. Hopefully I see some growth in the remaining episodes n enjoy their chemistry becos i want to badly.

Edit: finally finished watching and like so many here I loved xuanye n ranqing love story so much though it was so short but it was more rootworthy n would have loved to watch the whole drama based on that theme 😍chengyi as bad boy xuanye totally nailed that role n looked so hot. Finally found something shipworthy. Though the main leads were good as individual ckts I wasn't able to ship them much or anyone else. Overall 8.5/10 experience.

U guys won't believe just few days back I was imagining XZ in modern cdrama having arranged marriage troupe as story n guess who I imagined the actress! Yes it was her, ZJY, randomly I imagined this, becos zjy is very pretty n i thought she would suit XZ lookwise. N wen I saw they r casted together in this, I was so shocked n pleasantly surprised, I felt prophetic or something , I m so happy n excited n waiting for this drama to air now for so many reasons other than XZ. 🥳 Hope it airs in 2024 only. 🤞

Nirvana in fire I tried to watch but it was too serious n more on political side than being mysterious, so its not for me. But thanks for other recommendations ❤️ will try them.

Can someone suggest me similar cdrama where there r many mysterious cases to solve! 😭 Other than untamed, I have watched that, and tried blood of youth n word of honor but they were not same or interesting enough for me. Too much martial art fights only in them so got bored. So pls suggest something similar to mlc.

Watching MLC n feeling li xiangyi role would have suited xiao zhan so much😓. As it is somewat similar to wei wuxian ckt. No offence to chengyi, he also is terrific there, but my bias is XZ so i felt I would have loved li xiangyi so much more if it was XZ playing it.

This drama was so nice n chemistry of leads so good, Gu wei and LZX story was captivating, i don't like the side couples at all n skipped their scenes. N rewatched this drama twice within time span of 2 mnths only, n still couldn't get enough of leads story and chemistry 🥰 that much i loved this drama, don't knw why many people bashed this drama so much here. Except the annoying side couples this drama deserves better ratings.

It was so much more annoying in novel, i even complained abt it here before this drama aired wen I read the novel, it felt like age shaming him to me too n i also got irritated though in novel age gap was 7 yrs which is more than in drama. It was toned down a lot here in the drama n so I didn't feel annoyed here.

Tried to watch this drama after hearing a lot about it, but I felt I m uneducated or something while watching it becos I wasn't able to understand wat the hell they were talking about half of the time becos they talked abt computer science n coding n all n it's not my field 😭 this drama made me feel dumb becos so many people loved it, n I wasn't able to watch or enjoy it. 😭 Sorry, the chemistry between leads was amazing but that's that.

It seems she got her karma back like there was a scene in the novel too where she also gets harassed by people wronged by her step father. Here djx n sz might have come to defend her n it would have been an eye opener for psycho girl.

In this complicated world sometimes simplicity with no toxicity should be appreciated atleast in fictional world. That's y, it made people just smile n be happy with its simplicity, that's y they rated it high.

People it seems r used to sadistic pleasures of watching planning plotting, murders n fighting only, so can't just enjoy cute stuff with no toxicity leaving a huge smile on ur face after watching every episode. Weird people. Wats so good about watching people die?😭 i hate that genre the most where people r just dying. Maybe I m very weak hearted person. 😔

I don't like fl chasing like despo when ml keeps showing cold shoulders but smiling behind, to make it seem he is also interested but just doesn't reciprocate. It makes fl already look like having no self respect n despo.

Might be unpopular opinion but What I love about SZ from other campus drama fls who falls in love first is that she keeps her pride even while fangirling djx secretly n doesn't chase after him childishly n desperately. She had feminine grace throughout the drama. She acted childishly only in front of her own family which is relatable but outside her family she didnt. Maybe I m old school n old fashioned but i love mls chasing fls n not vice versa. Fls acting desperate while ml looks like giving cold shoulders is a big turn off for me.

I read on twitter that it was the purple star where SZ wrote her 2 dreams, going to yihe University n duan jiaxu but then scrapped djx name later wen she got heartbroken.

Yes I also wanted to see how djx was successful with his own company n having a house of his own but in the novel it wasn't mentioned but in extra chapters he was shown having an office n many workers in the office which meant he was doing well.

I didn't think ending was rushed. It was how it was in the novel. They remained more than 90% true to the novel.
