I could not agree more! Can you give me some Chinese drama recommendations?
I started Shen Li and it's funny so far. No baby voice FL and she's established as a mature and strong character from episode 1.
I'm back to watching some anime and gaming so it's been a slow month for dramas. I'm also watching K drama Queen of Tears and I'm enjoying that so far.
I haven't watched When I Fly Towards You yet but heard great things.

There are so many genres! I keep my watchlist updated if you want to take a look!
My favorite is Xianxia dramas that are costume fantasy.
Lost You Forever Till the End of the Moon Ashes of Love Ancient Love Poetry Starry Love Love Between Fairy and Devil Immortal Samsara Love and Redemption The Trust
Are my top faves from that genre. I also like period costume dramas where it isn't so much fantasy but still costume
Destined Wonderland of Love The Rise of Phoenixes Story of Yanxi Palace Story of Kunning Palace
I don't really care for too many modern Chinese dramas. I feel like Korea has better modern, but lack in the fantasy costume dramas since they don't have a lot of episodes to world build.
My favorite modern Chinese ones are
A Romance of a Little Forest Arsenal Military Academy Love is Sweet My Boss Reset
My completed list is up to date! I hope you find one you enjoy!
I loved Season 1! Season 2 felt like one giant filler. It wasn't terrible, but it's focused on the side characters and them trying to survive the after math of season 1. Looking forward to Season 3 this summer!
I agree. In the same way that they skipped over 900 years, they could have skipped her until college at least,…
If he didn't keep saying "when you're grown up" or "when you become an adult" I would have been fine. For all we know, she was months away from 18 but nooo, it's like the director wanted to remind us that she was underage. Ugh. Glad I finished it and it's off of my list.
This deserves a lower rating. I wanted to look past her being a minor, but they keep freaking mentioning it. I'm on episode 13 and I just need to power through the last 3 episodes. I'm curious if the high scores are from young girls/women who still haven't figured out they are prey.
This is the only Korean or Chinese drama that I can rewatch. That's not to say other dramas are bad. Chinese dramas, especially older ones, are 50-70 episodes and there are some excellent ones. Ones that have broken me to pieces and built me back up. Korean ones are typically 16 episodes and there are again, excellent. But rewatching is time consuming when you have such a huge watchlist you want to get through.
Something about this drama though... I rewatch and never skip a single scene. I know they are married in real life now, but watching them in this just didn't feel like acting. There are other main couples who have explosive chemistry, but behind it, you can see that they are just doing their jobs. These two... I feel like they really fell in love as characters and actors and it was so gentle and sweet that I can't help but love watching it.
Season 2 isn't awful, but I wasn't here for the side characters. Lol I want to know why it's turning some into full monsters and others are okay. I guess it's a build up for season 3. It's not as great as season 1,but I haven't been bored.
Just binged this all day. Great BL. I loved that it didn't have the typical BL tropes like trying to hide their attraction from the public or one lead was in the closet and violent to the idea kind of thing. I even liked how they used the real date where same sex marriage became legal in Taiwan.
The age gap thing didn't bother me because I don't think the age of FZR was ever revealed and BZY could have been a month away from 18.
I loved how sweet they were with each other. Even the heated parts were still gentle and loving. No pinning and forcing, no convincing/begging, etc. All in all a great quick watch

I am loving this drama. I like how it's not full of tropes that you find in BL. I think they are handling the moral struggle very well.
