I didn't understand the purpose of the lawyer love interest in the first ep at all. It was totally unnecessary.…
I think you are overlooking some important parts of the plot if you say his role was almost irrelevant. He was not just a random character. He was there to teach the female lead a hard but necessary lesson.

She assumed that just because he liked her in the past, he would still have feelings for her years later when they met again. She never stopped to think that people move on. Through that rejection, she finally understood that no one is going to wait around forever.

The flashbacks also mattered. They showed that she spent her whole life avoiding romance and focusing only on school and her career. She has no dating experience. She does not even know what kind of man she likes or what she really wants in a relationship.

Getting rejected was the turning point for her. It pushed her out of her comfort zone. It forced her to rethink her priorities and actually try when it comes to love. That is why she starts going on blind dates. That is what opens the door for the male lead and the second male lead to enter the story.

You could not create the same impact using the male lead or the second male lead. The rejection had to come from someone outside of those two. She needed a clean emotional break to start her journey. Without that moment, there would be no reason for her to change or to actively search for love.

Because cheating is not criminal. He has the option of divorce and moving on with his life. Also are you people…
It honestly feels like you’re rejecting the basic meaning of words. Cheating is morally wrong, I’m not defending it, but it isn’t a crime. A crime is something defined by law as punishable by the state, whether through fines, imprisonment, or even, in extreme cases, death.

I’m not trying to minimize cheating; it’s already low behavior. But it’s not in the same category as serious criminal acts like human trafficking or crimes against children. Calling it “emotional murder” just makes the conversation hard to take seriously.

Even if cheating were made illegal tomorrow, it still wouldn’t be in the same universe as crimes that exploit or harm children. And when there are real, horrific crimes happening, including powerful people trafficking children, focusing this intensely on cheating feels misplaced. That contrast says more than you might realize.

You obviously don’t seem to understand what a crime actually is. Is cheating punishable by the state? No. It’s a betrayal, yes, but it’s not the same as rape or trafficking, which are violent crimes.

Calling the difference in how people react to those things “selective preferences” makes no sense. Are you honestly suggesting someone should feel the same level of disgust toward a cheater as they do toward a rapist or a pedophile? That’s not about preference—that’s about recognizing harm and criminal behavior.

And implying that being more disturbed by crimes against children than by infidelity is somehow wrong is deeply concerning. I genuinely worry about anyone who can’t see that distinction.

Am I wrong that as a woman you can pretty much feel instinctually who you're romantically interested in out of…
Under normal circumstances, sure, but her situation really is not normal. The FL’s world basically shrank overnight, and the ML went from being this persistent, slightly annoying presence to becoming her main source of comfort and stability. In a lot of ways, he is the only person who consistently shows up for her. So when she finally lets her guard down and fully accepts him as part of her everyday life, and then he suddenly confesses, of course that is going to shake her.I also do not really get the whole “the ML deserves better” argument. She has not mistreated him. She has not led him on or made promises she could not keep. He chose to confess knowing full well there was history with the SML. Having feelings for someone does not entitle you to a relationship with them, and it definitely does not mean the other person is obligated to immediately reciprocate. And the SML is not just some random obstacle thrown in for drama. He is someone who mattered to her before, someone she had real feelings for, and their story did not have proper closure. It makes sense that there would still be lingering emotions there. Add to that everything else happening in her life, the chaos, the grief, the pressure of trying to secure a full time position, and when exactly has she had the space to sit down and sort out her heart? At the end of the day, the love triangle is clearly intentional. It is a classic drama trope for a reason. Writers use it to build tension and emotional conflict. We can either accept that it is part of the story being told, or decide it is not for us and move on. But expecting her to have instant clarity just because the ML confessed feels a bit unfair.

I’ve noticed that people take unserious shows way too seriously. This drama was never meant to be that deep. The way some of you complain, you’d think you’ve never watched a K-drama before.

The SML doesn’t even come close to making the top 100 list of annoying second male leads. She’s a single woman, and he’s allowed to pursue her. That’s not a crime.
And speaking of tropes, let’s not act surprised. We’ve got the classic “blame everything on the temp hire with zero evidence” while everyone gossips loudly in the office. Then there’s the extreme filial piety storyline, where your parents could literally run you over and the message would still be “but they’re your parents.” This is standard K-drama material.

I also see people complaining that the female lead isn’t immediately throwing herself at the male lead. Just because he suddenly decided he’s in love with her doesn’t mean she has to move at the same speed. Feelings don’t work like that. No one is entitled to someone else’s love.

Omg the CEO is so suspicious to me. It sounded like Jung Hye came up with the idea of the app and him and the prosecutor created a system with the help of the cop to traffic vulnerable young men, women & minors. As for Min Seo she’s such an interesting character. based on the dates on the tomb stone I don’t know if she’s the daughter or not but she wants revenge. I wonder why she attacked the FL’s though was it to enrage them and make sure they don’t drop the case? or was it someone else. I hope she’s the one to kill the prosecutor if he ends up dying. I’m so glad that they let the police husband in on their investigation.

Every case is different, but I think in idol case, the punishment was too harsh. The villains didnt need to die…
I just recently watched tht episode and I disagree completely. She had a fake business set up so she could drug, manipulate and sell young girls to rich old men. Her sad backstory doesn’t excuse the terrible crimes she committed. I wish the same exact fate to all predators and human traffickers.

It’s not as nonsensical because you can’t even mention those two things in the same sentence. You have more complaints about cheating than you have of human trafficking and have been clogging up the comment section for 40 days and 40 nights. I don’t know if someone broke your heart and cheated on you and now you feel the need to trauma dump on us but consider us tapped out. You can continue this comment conversation on your own.

You’re seriously not okay for making that comparison, and then acting like you didn’t just equate rape with cheating. That’s not only offensive, it’s disturbing.

And honestly, if the cheating storyline upsets you this much, why are you still here commenting on every single episode? If it’s that triggering or frustrating, it might be healthier to just stop watching and move on to something you actually enjoy.

We will find out eventually but I think it’s because she wants to keep her mom safe. The dad is always three steos ahead of everyone. She is a student so she could also be afraid of her dad secrets coming to public and impacting her. However, she seems like her goal is to protect her mom.

She works extra hours cause she’s a intern and wants to move to full time employee. in case you forgot one of her dreams was to be a full time employee. When asked y’all can’t name a single time she was being neglectful to her nephew. Did she leave him on the side of the road or does she always have child care arranged? This is literally what working parents do. Again y’all keep saying this because she’s not throwing herself at the ML and because there’s a another man in the picture.

I totally forgot this was only 12 episodes, so when the confession happened I was like… wow, that came fast. But with a shorter drama, the pacing is obviously going to move quicker.

Now everyone’s obsessing over the weight of the FL and SML. Welcome to Korea, where beauty standards are extremely harsh and unforgiving. That’s the reality they’re working in. There’s no point in piling on when these actors already have to survive constant scrutiny and unrealistic expectations in their own industry. And honestly, reading some of these comments, some of you are just as judgmental as the society you’re criticizing.

People have been calling the FL selfish since episode one. But whenever someone asks what she’s actually done that’s so awful, no one can give a clear example. It’s just vibes and projection.

The way she’s being judged is exactly how society treats mothers who aren’t attached to their children 24/7. What do you want her to do? Quit her job and sit at home? Is she not allowed to have a personal life? She’s a young woman who lost her sister overnight and suddenly had the responsibility of raising her nephew. Of course she’s going to make mistakes. Of course she’s going to struggle to find balance. Even people who actively choose to have children mess up sometimes.

If we’re being honest, a lot of the hate feels less about her actions and more about the fact that she doesn’t fit into a very traditional, “domesticated” mold. Some of you don’t like seeing the ML doing a lot of the cleaning. Some of you are mad that she interacts with a man she previously liked instead of immediately throwing herself at the ML.

Spousal rape is actually very common and happens more often compared to the stranger in the dark alley. Even the prosecutor tried to rape the FL when she was his girlfriend. It’s mostly between people that already know each other. In this one I think he raped the wife first and she probably found out she was pregnant and he forced her to marry him. She filed a report and dropped the chargers. Either way the guy is a disgusting repeat offender and they need to get him away from the daughter and wife.

you are the one that made the comparison by saying at the end of this all the criminals will either be dead in prison but not the cheater. So the mentally ill person is you if you think any of those things can even be comparable.

its funny to see women saying to not focus on cheating part when in other dramas they they would be asking the…
If cheating is one of the main things the show keeps putting front and center, then yeah, people are going to talk about it. That’s natural. And when it’s written in such a familiar way, the “evil spouse” versus the “home-wrecking mistress” trope, of course viewers are going to have strong opinions. We’ve seen that dynamic a hundred times before, so people are going to dissect it.

But at the same time… this show is dark. Like, genuinely disturbing.

We’re watching a story about rape, the trafficking of minors, and corruption so deep that a prosecutor is allegedly using his power to sell children to powerful men. That’s not background noise, that’s horrifying. It’s heavy. It lingers.

So when someone says they’re able to just move past all of that and focus mainly on the cheating? I don’t know. That’s surprising to me. For a lot of us, the bigger picture is so unsettling that it’s hard to zoom in on the affair like it’s the main scandal. The infidelity almost feels small compared to everything else going on.

Some people might gravitate toward the cheating storyline because it’s more familiar, more personal, maybe easier to process. But for others, the rest of the plot is so dark and disturbing that it’s impossible not to see it as the real focus.

Yea I can’t blame her at all. However, I feel like there’s a bit more to her character. I’m hoping that she stole that laptop back for the lawyers. God knows they need all the help they can get. Even if she did it for other reasons she’s not evil she’s just a child that’s trying to survive.

in the beginning you had so many people claiming that the writers wanted us to think the FL’s were poweril and the music that was playing was trying to portray them as female icons etc… When in reality they are exactly as we said damaged, flawed, hot mess characters. for example why are the female leads so trusting? you are literally going up against a powerful network of predators that have infiltrated al sectors of society so every man, women and child that you come across should be met with immediate suspicion. not to mention their own personal trauma. Leaving that girl that sold a child to a network of pedos with all your critical information is insane. Going to met the wife that already betrayed you and thinking the husband wasn’t gonna find out immediately is insane. Why do you keep texting her? are you trying to get her killed? As for the IT CEO idk if we can trust another man at this point especially in light of him being an IT guy and we don’t know who built that app yet. Again I feel like she trusted him way to easily cause what does he truly want. I need the FL’s to be more like the detective husband. You can tell that his a detective cause how insightful his character is. in all his scenes he notices every little discrepancies and body languages. Now I need them to the same as lawyers. I knew it was only a matter of time before he found out. He seems like a nice man so I wish the best for him. as for the other cop oh he needs to go to hell. what a freak. also what is the prosecutor doing to his wife and daughter. It’s all so dark and creepy.
