He seems like the type of writer who's just trying to get his work done and doesn't actually care. In the original script, everyone is so flat, and actions don't fit any logic. It's sadly a super common thing in CDrama, especially those that make scripts out of popular novels when they get a drama adaptation. Always make unnecessary stories cuz they think the market likes that stuff

The fourth one is likely FL death can reset storyline. scriptwriter probably thinks she doesn't know and didn't want her to use it and ruin his plan to return. NH's plot armor is breaking down cuz he's aware of the scriptwriter and this fake world now

Same, tpob wasn't really my cup of tea and the story was kinda predictable. his acting was still not as polish compare to to this either. Like shipping wise people probably preferred tpob cuz its sweeter but story wise and character wise nanheng is much more complex and this script is much fresher. His voice acting is sooooo much better here too. Watching tpob and then this the difference is so apparent. also despite similar style you can't connect nanheng and weishao much at all other than that king aura

He's just a good listener even tho he doesnt get a lot of stuff she says😂. and he's smart he could probably associate it with the clicky sounds

Nanheng really got the hardest plot armor in all of c-dramaland for a human ...lost count of all the injuries he's got but side charas would've died from just one of them 😭😭

Which also kind of shows he’s arrogant and stupid. Just because you have a free pass doesn’t mean you should use it. Someone who doesn’t know how to hide their hostility and can’t see boundaries is bound to fail. It's funny how he's not wary of the emperor at all 🤡
