Just rewatched EP 3 more slowly on a weekend night (when I'm less tired), and I'm glad that I began to feel that MSP magical vibe from Gem4th's convo at the end. I guess we need more convos like that in the next episodes ^^
Moving on from an extremely empathetic and high-EQ Tinn to a nonchalant clueless Kongthap can be difficult though, not just for Gemini the actor but also for us audiences. Let's manifest they will pull it off :P I really hope that the only reason we didn't love it as much as we want to is because Kongthap wasn't meant to be liked yet.

yeah all 3 need to be released together to be honest. I didn't like It's You until I listened to Among many people. And the Engsub GMMTV provided is actually subpar :( If anyone understands Thai (or Vietnamese) it would be 10x as poetic. Hopefully someone can provide a good Engsub :P
Being a gay fan of Gem4th from MSP, I will try my best not to be biased. But I do think Atom's shift in crush towards Kongthap was very reasonable, unlike what some are complaining about.
First of all, his crush with Mudmee wasn't even that serious. All it took was Atom seeing a cute girl who gave him cupcake when no one bothered. In this episode, Kongthap treats him in an even more special manner compared to Mudmee, consistently encouraging him and protecting him.
Secondly, Atom is a 11th grader. Heck, when I was 16, I got a crush on people much more quickly than Atom did. And don't even go on with the argument of why Atom switched from girl to guy. He was 16, he might be bisexual, or he might be exploring. Let the kids explore in peace.
I do agree that the pacing was a little rushed (a shift in crush tucked into two episodes), but event-wise I think the characters already go through enough. They already go through a basketball practice and a school play practice. Man, it's just a crush, it doesn't take that much time :) And obviously a crush is not the final goal of a story.
Please wait for the real development of affection and love in the next 10 episodes. Hopefully the MLMU team will deliver that part well.

I mean I agree with you that the Japanese version would depict the character as more genuine and lovable because he was less talented. But it doesn't mean that Atom is less brave, no? I believe being willing to help another person is a good trait, regardless of the extra behind-the-scene intentions (which we only guessed). It does take more courage for Aoki to step up, but you shouldn't disregard Atom.
And yes it might be true that they have picked the wrong person for the role of a clumsy talentless person, but it is a business regardless :P They need to make money, and they cannot afford either Fourth or Gemini to play a role that has no talent or make fun of themselves on the stage.

After ep1 at the end he already let Mudmee go and decided to ship Mudmee with Kongthap, all he did in the first two parts of ep 2 was shipping Mudmee with Kongthap.
For me I noticed something was off but I definitely don't have enough domain knowledge to explain why. Hopefully this thread helps (and is correct in technical terms). I wholeheartedly agreed that the one scene throwing me off was definitely the last scene with the weird misty filter and all the credits on top.
I really hope the staffs upped their game like they did in MSP.
Regarding the naming thing of Kongthap and Half, I noticed in GMMTV 2024 Part 1 talk after the trailer, when Chokun introduced himself the whole cast whispered something about "cannot be spoiled" haha. Turns out it's about this first name similar to Kongthap thing.

One of the other theories is that Half's first name (as in official name, not nickname) maybe Polkongthap, and Mudmee already used some part of the eraser, so only Kongthap is remained.

Even though it also pains me, I totally agree with this comment. I do hope their cinematography and editing becomes better in the later episodes. I'm not an expert but I do "feel" that in My School President it also got better, and I really hope the backstage team will up their game for this.
