I understand what you're saying. I've watched a bunch of dramas even before the 2014 timeline, so quality shouldn't be an issue. What I'm trying to say is that on sites like Dramacool and Bilibili, whoever uploaded the video, it's too blurred. I can't even tell what the actors look like.

When I watched Love 020 back in 2017, I was like, "what's wrong with these chinese girls? they look like withered sticks that could break with a single snap." I was new to C-ent at the time. However, compared to Zheng Shuang back then, Ju Jingyi seemed much healthier and not as skinny to me (maybe cuz im used to watching too many cdramas with skinny actresses now), at least in costume dramas.
Body shaming is a whole other level of toxicity in China. If actresses can't maintain a certain weight level, which is often below what's considered average, they become targets for toxic fans and have to deal with constant hate and attacks.

The first costume drama of 2024 that I'm completely invested in. Pacing, chemistry, acting...everything is spot on. Xuanhuan isn't usually my genre, but I'm surprised I'm hooked.
Loved every part of how WG won the hearts of everyone inside the cave/mine including the Bigfoot Monster. just love the way how the production team conveyed the message that LOVE & RESPECT can even change the tide and melt anything if you do it with your whole heart.
Also, didn't expect a man-eating monster to turn out to be Agou (really, it was a surprise).
Allen Ren as Agou is way cuter for now and so is Fefei.
