tanwa's song and the editing choice during the student's protest and shooting wasn't merely a editing or stylistic choice but a way to circumvent censorship and for more context the movie 'By the Time It Gets Dark' can be a pretty complementary watch to understand the backdrop of this series and what they tried to convey. Anyways the THAICA was involved as it's been lately in several historical series in Thailand (Loyal pin and others) so yeah makes sense the producers didn't want to bite the hand that lends them money right? Anyways it's a extraordinary series but i would have liked a historical backdrop and not a maybe (clearly) "inspired in... that incident" kinda thing.
absolute batshit its clearly a censored movie as you can see when they are closing the credits, its china meddling into hong kong media, sadly old hong kong crime movies won't be doing a comeback
no plot, no character development, just barely vibes of 80s taipei, barely social comentary, feels like it was just a compilation of scenes, it doesnt have romance tho.
i'd like to know why BL watchers need constantly comparison between countries (like review #2 from cartierfilez) and kdrama watchers don't compare to cdrama/jdrama in this website barely ever.
PS: you don't need to answer me, i just let it sink in here.
It's quite ok (6/10). Bad pace (wasted 2 episodes)
Episodes 1 and 2, even towards the end of ep 3 are so slow my only reason to keep watching is because is a BL lol. The ghosting experience should have been explored in a deeper way than just "Separation anxiety" I don't think this was a good depiction of a ghosting experience (here is where i see the wasted potential) 2ML (Shin Gi Tae actor) his acting is so dry... The comparison with Semantic Error... for me Semantic Error is superior, originallity, plot development and closure are much better. Blueming is more like a traditional kdrama and I like it better too. The skinship and kisses are good :) the chemistry is good (finally a KBL with chemistry but yet the acting need to improve)
Overall, wasted potential and like comment #3 in the reviews said "too many lows on KBL but the highs aren't so high" i can't agree more.
