1. male lead did help with medicine search/ research which lead to new discovery because he also noticed things. which did matter.
2. he helped female lead get over her trauma.
3. he saved female lead while in wheelchair.

basically he does try help people be it financially or as volunteer.
some of those times though got him hurt.

and he didn't cry for 39 episodes. that was the female lead!!
