Title Tell Me That You Love Me Spoiler
yet another episode that blew me away. Episode after episode it’s making me fall in love with this show even more. 9 masterpieces of episodes and it keeps getting better. Didn’t like the preview for next episodes as it seems like FL and ML had a misunderstanding at the end due to the past relationship. Liked it how the parents behaved in front of the ML, though they were not so happy with their daughter seeing him but they were so very courteous of him. Also liked how the SML is being supportive of the relationship even though he realised he has feelings for FL.

The parents and brother's reaction gives us, the viewers, a good explanation why ML avoided relationship with…
After such a huge discussion thread, I guess it all comes down to the economy. Children are of course everyone's focus here as well, it's just that we kind of evaluate the happiness to income. You would never see that a doctor and a mechanic/electrician/carpenter have a similar kind of quality of life in Asia. Your university teacher was happy with his daughter's job and career as even a profession of hairdresser would earn her enough money to live a luxurious life. I wish all economies were similar, I would not want anybody's kid to be a software engineer and keep staring at monitors all day long and instead do what they enjoy.

The parents and brother's reaction gives us, the viewers, a good explanation why ML avoided relationship with…
It's just the difference in culture. From an outsider's perspective, it may seem like our parents are trying to control us, but to us, it's more like we trust whatever they decide would be best for us. No parent would willingly ruin his child's life just for the sake of controlling the child.

Moreover, here education is more based on academic excellence and not gaining independence. So the child focuses solely on education till he graduates high school at the age of 18. Though at 18 we are legally adults most of us still don't have enough to survive on our own. This has its own pros and cons. Loss is we are fully dependent on parents till we land a job. But on the brighter side you would find that big companies in countries like US tend to employ asians due to academic excellence.

You might think I went on a tangent but what I want to emphasize on our dependence on our parents. And us obeying our parents is more out of our respect to them for all their sacrifices to support us growing up. That's how it works here. The thing about the "age of glory" is not why this happens. Imagine you made so many sacrifices to build a stage for your kid to shine only for them to mess up by marrying a drug dealer :).

To summarize I don't feel that this is control but it is guidance. The FL didn't want to tell her parents that she quit a well-paying job to become an actress. This is because she knew deep down she was taking a big risk which can make her parent's sacrifices go to waste. Also, they would disapprove if she had nothing to show for it. If you say it's none of her parent's business and they should shut up and not say anything while FL just messes up an already settled future, then that's not our culture. It might seem like alien gibberish to you but it's normal for us.

About seeing a disabled person, I guess even Western parents would not be sitting silently.

woaaah! Really shouldn't have read this thread so thoroughly. The amount of cultural differences between Asia and Europe + West is more like an unsurpassable ocean. Frankly, the reaction of Parents and brother didn't bother me at all because we Asians usually have to get validation from elders in almost anything substantial till the point you have your own family and even then you are not completely independent to make major decisions.

The reason for this might be the financial aspect as we are fully dependent on our parents for literally anything till we land a proper full-time job. We don't have any financial assistance programs or a concept of part-time jobs while you are still in school/university.

In reality, that kind of situation will bring out a far worse reaction. When it comes to your direct family you generally don't see relationships with people with disability in a good light especially when it is sprung out on you out of nowhere. The serial killer analogy is like comparing apples and oranges.

Anyway, it's my perspective as a disabled myself, I have seen such insensitive reactions on many occasions. Just ask a group of parents whose kids are in high school if they would be okay with a disabled student (who goes to school in a wheelchair), or a deaf/mute or autistic student to be in their kid's class. You would see how people react when their direct family is involved with some outside person who is affected by a disability.

So that part was an accurate portrayal of reality. The FL falling for a disabled ML like that only happens rarely.

he was just shocked... see 2ML's reaction was similar but he managed to get out of the shock quickly because he knew about ML's condition. But for the poor bother and parents it was like FL just dropped an atomic bomb on them out of nowhere so of course the 3 of them freaked out and their reactions seemed insensitive because of the shock... give them the time they will come around

I'm gonna start watching Chocolate as all the other dramas you mentioned are my favourite. I am liking this one…
wow, this comment thread is getting out of hand now. I loved all the ones you mentioned. Especially Love Affairs in the Afternoon, it made most of us think maybe infidelity wasn't a bad thing when most of the people in the comments section of this drama are losing their minds due to the cheating at the end of the Japanese version

The way Jung Mo Eun's brother and parents looked at Cha Jin Woo in ep.8 irritated my soul.... Being deaf isn't…
They were just caught off guard that's it and would need time to come around. As a handicapped person myself, I have seen people caught off guard during our first meet and it took them some time to get around. So I think Jung Mo Eun's brother and parents will not be opposed to the relationship.

The way FL is looking at ML…. as if he is a tasty dish she is savouring to eat at the end… it’s as if the actress is really in love with the actor

did you find it boring?
nope I am just comparing it to other episodes where I never got the urge to fast forward even a second. Ep 7 for me took the least amount of time to finish… all other episodes so far I finish in about 2 hours but ep 7 took about an hour only

It really hurt when I was forwarding a few scenes while watching ep 7. So far all I did in the first 6 eps was pause to make sure I digested the previous scene fully; and rewind coz the scene was too good.

It felt bad coz we got our 1st very good episode when all the other eps were masterpieces.

Title Death's Game
This is definitely gonna win a lot of awards. The star cast was no joke with the names and all of them delivered. But damn Lee Do Hyun and Lee Jae Wook took my breath away and for the first time made me cry while watching a KDrama. Our Doom was great as usual. And the attitude of Park So Dam waaaaah girl just killed the role.

I can see why Jinwoo fell for his college gf, she's so pretty. and saying things like “And I'll be your sound"…
The whistle thing might as well be a psychological trauma from the fire. I somehow feel that the ML was the one who might have broken the relationship coz he let her get hurt in the fire cause he couldn’t hear the whistle. The whistle could also be from something on the stove which ML forgot about and causing the fire but the SFL thinks it was a stalker who staged it. I am just thinking of anything but please don’t bring in a stalker and crime genre here. Don’t ruin this masterpiece.

how do I even describe how good this has been so far? Maybe it's just recency bias but, I don't think I have watched anything as beautifully written as this. This is so addictive that it should become the entry point to KDramas for beginners. The vibes, charisma of the ML, FL's vulnerabilities, and the depiction of how a disability causes both sides to not go all guns blazing into romance all the while falling for each other even more. It is all perfect and well thought out so far. The only problem is when it's 16 eps and we are only at ep 5, can they maintain this perfection and build up on it for 11 more eps? Or will fall into the slump we see between ep 9 and 14 as seen in many KDramas where they have to bring unnecessary plots to make content worth 16 hours?

don't know about other people's opinions on this but Perfect Marriage Revenge has kind of taken out all my anticipation and excitement for Marry My Husband. I have read the webtoon version of MMH and PMR at least to me seems like a more all-bases covered story. Not saying MMH is bad but we all kind of watched a better version of MMH just a month ago.

If you want to watch for PMY then fine but I am not excited about this. The same case happened with A Time Called You because Someday or One Day was so perfect I didn't even bother watching ATCY.
