well I can’t refute this... they could have cut few of the scenes and added details instead... but what’s your honest rating of this movie? Hopefully you are just frustrated and disappointed with it for the missed opportunity and not downright hate it to give 1 star
You have put it perfectly. Many of the readers hate that so many details are omitted. But if you add those details you can’t make a movie. People need to understand the difference between literature and movies as a medium. Already the movie was a overload of information for someone like me who read it long back. Imagine if all details that @Mirei nicely compiled above was included and explained in the movie. I want to watch movies and get entertained and not watch something where you are constantly bombarded with so much info in 1.5 hours like an educational video
Just try watching it. I didn't watch it at all, but the comments from many people are that they can't even watch…
i thought you watched the movie with the confidence with which you were mocking me as a non reader but wow you are just projecting what haters say while calling yourself neutral and all knowing pundit. Watch movie yourself and then carry your own views without a bias.
I don't see the hallmarks of a reader here. A true reader knows that there's a lot to discuss from the start.…
wow the aggression with which you are coming at me. Its very fascinating to see the blatant hatred. YJH doesn't possess any regression skills in any part of the world? What do you mean? They did show a bit part where they tell why YJH decided to go solo, and I clearly see that as a hint to his skill.... As for the skill you need to understand, 1.5 hours would need considerable liberties; otherwise you would still be in 1st station explaining the skills at post-credit

All I am saying is a true adaptation of such a material is not possible unless the production company decides to risk all the political and religious controversies, losses from getting banned in many countries for mocking their cultures, lawsuites and potential bankruptcy. Unfortunately ORV was never gonna be a good material for a commercial movie with all those constellations being part of many cultures.
I don’t have a problem discussing how bad the movie was for a 7-7.5 rated movie. But what I have problem with are the 1-1.5 ratings which is plain dumb (and so were all the reciprocating 9-10 ratings). Sadly most of the negative reviews were pure hatred due to changes to the webnovel and had nothing to do with how the movie was. BTW apart from LJH using a gun rest of the movie followed the novel. Apart from leaving some details which was unavoidable. If you download a 10 gb stuff as 1 gb compressed stuff, some loss of info is unavoidable.
ok... i don’t think this deserves the hate it is getting. As a novel reader, I knew this would be vastly different from the webnovel and it should not be treated as an insult to the OG.
You all need to realize that a web novel and live action are two entirely different dishes. The author had the liberty of using many constellations that have some real influence in many cultures and pitted them against each other. There were even instances of turning an actual god into a despicable villain. There were also instances where they used actual historical figures who were part of the Japan vs Korea history (I am talking about Lee Ji Hye). A web novel can get away with all this because the target audience usually overlooks such things when they come across certain sections (I am from India, and the author just off'd a few Hindu gods). A webnovel doesn’t cause controversy at a large scale that would actually impact how it is received/rated/monetized.
Now think of a movie that you want to release worldwide with a star-studded cast, a predominantly CGI-based shoot. Imagine the millions that go into the pre-, during, and post-production. They would need to tread carefully with the historical and mythological figures; otherwise, it might just get banned or get embroiled in a controversy that derails its collections. I wasn’t surprised that they were just showing us the constellation of Jung Hui Won among so many constellations.
Coming to the point of being too fast-paced, it's a 1.5-hour movie, unlike LOTR. If you put too less chapters and focus primarily on character development, you would end the movie at the first station itself.
You need to first understand why such decisions were taken and then give reviews. Game of thrones would have got trash reviews if it were a 3 part movie. This is definitely not a sub 7 movie.
Why does it feel like I already watched this? Oh Disney! Did you forget you already released Blood Free and Red Swan? I wish they could come up with something new.
I haven’t watched this yet but... Call it love and Lost would have kind of similar vibes
According to wiki Classified as an Electric-type Pokémon, Pikachu is a large yellow mouse with a lightning bolt-shaped tail, and red sacs on its cheek which can generate large amounts of electricity
