can I watch this without watching the first season? I kinda want to see this version more since seon ho is in…
yes, this is kind of like a reboot or alternate dimension from the first, since they don't really acknowledge the first season in the 2nd one.

WHY did everyone on this planet make me believe this has not a happy ending?? my condition got so bad thinking…
seems somewhat unrealistic that he survived what feels like half a dozen time when most would've died. that's probably why.

Been eyeing this one for a few years when I finished watching hospital Playlist a few years back. Since I turned 39 years old this year in January already and a few months into being 39. I just started watching now since it seems like a good time to watch it and see if I can relate.

Title Gimbap and Onigiri Spoiler
I just finished the series. I always stayed caught up every week, since I actually enjoy this drama.

I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews and I think most are rating based on their feelings rather than the realism or message of this drama.

Japan dramas tend to do bittersweet dramas. where there might be a love and loss. often someone might die from an illness or something like this.

It's actually a little more realistic in this situation for this to happen, especially when there was a lot of foreshadowing of them not lasting if they lived apart. from the initial break-up and cultural differences to ML not being good at staying in touch.

the message here is fleeting moments of happiness. they had their moments of great happiness, meeting and falling in love, and from this, it built them up as a person. together they helped one another get further in their goals and careers and dreams by motivating and bringing a piece of culture and certain love for food home with them.

so while many gave it a low or mixed score. I liked this one and gave it 8.5 out of 10.

Why is this here? If one anime is allowed, then all should be available on MDL. I don't feel like this belongs…
oh boy. I'm in trouble if they start adding all anime here. especially when I have over 3000 listed on myanimelist and even many on anilist. I can't even keep up to export my list to anilist and they'd have to allow export here otherwise it'll take forever to add them all

hmm. guess I got to keep watching beyond episode 2 then because I just finished episode 2 and finding it a bit boring and I was going to stop watching for now. reminds me of Dexter which was already really great as is, but I also tend to get bored of mostly crime dramas, as well. I'll keep trying for this one since it seems to have mostly positive reviews.

It's true that tragic romances are a common theme in Japanese films, but this is one of the very best in recent…
I found it. it's called: Love like the falling petals.

yes. drawing closer is actually the movie I was thinking about as well when I watched this. didn't check out the Japanese version until after. there's another movie I saw when the girl ages rapidly, so she's an old lady in her 20s and passes but falls in love before then.

It is based on the original Japanese movie and the book that inspired that movie.
although what I did notice was the Japanese actress who played the one mom in the same movie. she's the same actress I recognized in another Japanese movie where she gets this disease which makes her age rapidly, so she basically becomes an old lady in her young 20s, then i think she died early as well after falling in love. there's also quite a number of similar other stories where someone has an illness with a love story. usually it's a Japanese storytelling. so right away this korean version made me think it was a Japanese story instead, only to find out soon after about the same movie coming out in Japan a few years earlier.

ha ha. yeah, I saw that after making this comment. I checked it out some, but I didn't want to watch the entire thing so I skimmed through. it seems mostly the same from what I saw, just more narration as the Japanese tend to do.

I never seen the Japanese one even though I've seen plenty of similar stories out of Japan. Japan tends to do too many stories like this where one or both have an illness and one or both die but still love one another. So to see a Korean movie do this instead is different because most tend to have a happy ending with its romance. I'll probably check out the Japanese version though for comparison, but it's a matter of different audiences.

I feel like this was based off a Japanese movie or story. At least the story is very much like what a Japanese sad romance one does. I know I watched one movie where the girl died instead and I think the boy did as well. Since both had an illness, but it wasn't amnesia like with this one. Then again, I've also watched so many anime that I may have seen it in an anime, as well.

Either way, I still enjoyed this movie and story, even though I didn't expect it to throw that at us near the end.

thiss, I was confused so does that mean the ai would just live while all humans are dead
if a natural disaster on a global scale wipes out all of humanity, there's no way you can save them all. that's the power of an apocalypse.

pretty much. there's an anime/video game called Steins; Gate and some other similar movies where they take a person's brain scans and everything about a person and uploads them into an AI where they continue living as they were, personality and all, but the real one died and it's essentially just a copied back-up of them running as a separate AI on the cloud or on any device. this one wants to try and create copies of digital or AI humans while trying to mimic real human emotions to continue on humans gone extinct and have them live digitally or AI over the cloud or machines or computers

I just started watching this for the first time. I'm on episode 3 and it's reminding me a lot of the anime Bleach. watch this one if you don't mind anime and like this type of story of grim reapers sending souls back to heaven and fighting demons. but bleach they go to their version of Heaven later, or rather the place where the grim reapers live, then into the demon's world and other places with a lot more fighting scenes.

Meh. This is one of the bad k-dramas I watched from this year. No emotional connection with any of these characters…
that'd actually be bad character acting if there's an emotional connection. the girl is a psychopath after all, someone who doesn't feel emotion. unless this changes later since I'm only 2 episodes in.

don’t know why people dislike it, it’s perfectly paced, the humor is quite witty and endearing, nice mature…
I don't get it either. I thought it'd be around 8/10 since I just finished it and thought it was around this score. Sure it got a bit repetitive, but the episodic format usually does well for most shows when it tells different stories with different focus on various character's story about a certain topic. in this case, involving love yet also divorce. it's interesting even though it's something happy married couples will hope they never have to worry about. I liked the couples and I thought it was a cute show and some parts even brought a tear to my eyes.
