South Korea has done quite a few movies like this. it's sick but it leaves an impact and awareness for people to protect their children and for men to hopefully learn and not do this. Sadly bad men will always exist, so it's up to good people to try their hardest as well to look after one another, until we can teach and hopefully prevent more bad men who attack children.

another movie you may have a tough time stomaching but tells a good story about this topic is an old movie called: Hope

I just finished along with others posting here. I liked most of it. Some of it dragged on with some unnecessary dialogue. I always felt they wanted to add another part when I saw some areas drag on. I was right when I saw final season 2025.

It's still just as tense as season 1. A little different, but it's better than being more of the same. Looking forward to see what happens after that ending in episode 7.

I don't think they were going for unique. Even the concept in season 1 wasn't unique or new. There's been plenty of battle royale/game competition shows to the death of this kind way before in tv series and anime. This one just resonated because they were children games this time and I guess it shocked most viewers who don't typically watch Asian shows or anime.

Season 2 is still quite tense like the first season, and that's what is important and I think that's what the show is always been about, and of course to highlight the core of human psychology of greed and their basic nature of aggression when they're trapped in a corner with no way to go up, how they'll do anything to survive and trample on others.

Another idea we've seen a lot before, but this series does it pretty well, with good acting, visuals and sound and action. It's a well packaged and put together show, season 2 included. I was just disappointed how this season is cut short with that cliffhanger ending. This season they really fleshed out the characters and the world of Squid game. Season 2 may have not been needed unless you have an interest to learn more to wrap up some unanswered questions.

Koreans are way more conservative when it comes to things like showing any skin and some other things, so you'll rarely see things like nudity or even some bare parts of their skin and drug use, unlike with American shows or shows in the West. That's why they do better with their filming/visuals and sometimes storytelling to make it more appealing.

Same. I'm on episode 11 and looked him up to see his past stuff, then saw he passed which makes the show feel even more sad. I didn't really know of him before since I watched Parasite in theaters when it came out and didn't realize he played as the rich father in that movie as well. At that time in 2019 or whenever it came out, I was still fairly new to Kdramas so I didn't know any actors yet except for the few I watched back in 2009.

RIP. his appearance and voice reminded me of a Korean version of Alan Rickman who plays Professor Snape in Harry Potter. So he seems like a great actor from what I've watch of My Mister so far.

Yes, it's a happy ending where they end up together.

I just finished this, I'm not sure how some people don't like this one. I really enjoyed every moment.

First few episodes is mostly lighthearted and fun stuff, sometimes even cringey, but later it becomes more serious and so good. Plenty of ups and downs and can really tear you up. I'm almost done episode 15 out of 16 now, and this episode is making me cry so much throughout, not many dramas make me tear up this much. I know most people don't want to give a show a chance if it doesn't hook them in right away, but if you hang in there, it's well worth it.

I agree. A 6 episode series would've been much better for each character story

Watched this a few days ago. i was in a middle of writing a comment here during that night, but I had to go do something and then I guess I forgot to finish and post it.

Anyway, I enjoyed the movie, but it left out some details about the very concept and tech itself.

Luckily, I've seen this concept done before in anime and video games, which explained more in them about this concept and how it works in that world.

Particularly, the visual novel and anime, Steins; Gate zero comes to mind. The AI is made from uploading the latest consciousness and brain data at the time it is uploaded, so all personality, memory and their very being is present for that time, but anything after isn't recorded with and new memory after.

So I'm thinking it could be almost the same, if they put their memory data in before they pass or go in a coma. They didn't really say, which had me wondering.

Otherwise, I was hooked because of the concept and all these well known actors. It could have been executed a little better though and went way too quickly. For a sci-fi, usually there needs some more to it, but I don't mind sci-fi after all the many romance Kdramas that are usually out there. Maybe that's why this one didn't do too well, because the target audience for most Kdramas, including this site, is probably romance/comedy.

It's also an episode idea for a black mirror episode too, so it's something you might have seen there. I think there even was a black mirror episode that was kind of like this movie as well.

Either way, I liked it and rated it 8/10. I wish there was more.

I just finished episode 6. Most kdramas have romance but other central plots too. this one has romance but is mainly focused on mental health and people dealing with mental health or personality disorders.

there's quite a few action scenes to get that adrenaline rush. Male lead can be pretty badass at times, but it's not as action packed as let's say, Vagabond.

what makes it disappointing? I just finished it and I really love it.

give it a chance. yes the first episode was stupid, but the rest of it takes a complete 180 from there and isn't like that at all and is really, really good.

How are you from the future a few days ahead? anyway, I'm starting to watch this for the first time and just started episode 4. so far it seems pretty good. the first episode was so sad.
