This is pretty campy like a lot of the old 80s and some 90s style of movies back then. I think that's what they're going for. Even though they took some of reply 1988 cast and stuck with the 4 male and 1 female friends formula, it looks like they went with a different approach. It was fun but nothing too great. It seems more based on nostalgia when movies used to be this type of silliness to it in a way with just some plot thrown in.
I thought the same when watching it too how similar they seem to be but for modern audiences. They even refer…
I actually just watched Goblin recently this year for the first time. I've only been watching a lot of Kdramas the past 3 or so years. Finished watching Goblin a few months ago in January. So it's still current in my mind which is why I can still see all the similarities. The story about their tragic past life also reminded me of My 19th life, which I only finish watching 2 or 3 weeks ago.
I thought the same when watching it too how similar they seem to be but for modern audiences. They even refer to demons as guardians just like they did with Goblins.
I thought this was a comforting female centered drama (friends, studies, love, comedy and a bit of drama) but…
it was only really the first episode where they were rude and seemed to hate each other, and that's simply due to misunderstanding and having different personalities which can clash. A lot of it is clashing personalities but you can see over time the female friendship between the 5 become closer and it's heartwarming and real. If you don't see this between female friends and always happy and sunshine, then those are just fake friends.
This show is funny. Not only for those cringey and goofy moments, but there's so many serious and dark moments leaving with a cliff hanger at the end of the episodes, then it goes to the happy and silly opening theme song to end off the episode.
I think they want to pretend like it's a Netflix show/made by them and people tend to watch shows newly released…
It's Netflix. It shouldn't come as a surprise when they do all these shady things. Like when they slap on Netflix originals on some shows that are outsourced by other studios.
i liked it idc what yall say..... (im just desperate for any sort of korean gl content hello can korea PLEASE…
the little bit of GL is what got me to check it out, since I never really seen any GL in Kdramas. I've watched plenty of anime with it though. I think the only GL I remember is one couple in Nevertheless.
I just started watching though and about to start on episode 4.
this is wrong but deaths and killings is right? at least one is legal, 19 is legal age of consent, the other is…
I'm just referring to this drama since that's the very topic and controversy involving this one in which people are uncomfortable. Most of the story in this drama is about death, loss and breaking the cycle of immortality. So much so with there being a grim reaper character. A subplot with a man cheating on and murdering his wife, which is far worse than a young woman falling in love with an immortal character.
Age of consent in Korea is 16, and age of adult is 18 international, 19 Korean age, which she is depicted here and is the legal age of an adult. 20 years is only for alcohol and cigarettes purchase and consumption, just like any other country usually waits a year or 2 after legal adult age to make it legal to them.
Both actors are way over the age of 20 in real life at the time of this filming.
If you're talking solely for the age gap being weird between the two characters, then realistically a 100 year old lady will even be too much considering ML was 900 years old. But this man was portrayed and appeared to look like his late 20s, so going by appearances, there's maybe a 10 year gap. I've seen worse.
it's a sad ending at first with an ass pull plot point at the end to force it into a happy ending
Bok Gwi-Ju (ML) can travel to the past to happy moments he's thinking of at the time in the present day. Do Da-hae (FL) is his link to altering past events because she is a paradox in his power and a key to make his super powers stronger. She wasn't supposed to be alive yet also lives because he goes back in time to save her. He was only able to go back to the point of saving her through another happy memory he had with his family, which he found the child of Do Da-hae and it opened up his powers to alter everything around in his past. They were going to wait until he was an old man and on his death bed to return to the time Do Da-hae was to be saved so they can spend their life together, but other events in the present forced him to go earlier since he sacrificed his life in present day to save his daughter and Do Da-hae. Meanwhile Do Da-hae was pregnant with his son when Bok Gwi-ju sacrificed himself and went to the past to save her. 5 years later, the son inherited powers from his father's side of the family. The son's power was to go to the past and bring things from the past to the present. So the son went back to the past in a time when Bok Gwi-Ju was still alive and brought him 5 years into the future/present day at the ending scene, for the whole family to be back together and live happily ever after.
I’m on episode two and I don’t know if I should continue someone give me advice://…Also does anyone find…
I think her character is 19 years old and then 20 when they really fall in love and such. So she's of legal age in most places. his character is supposed to be an appearance of 29 years. both actors are closer to the same age irl. he was 32 I believe when this was filmed and she was 25.
then there's a timeskip where her character becomes 29 and that's when the real romance is there. but either way, it won't matter because Goblin is actually 900 years old, so even if the character was 30-60 y/o she'd still be a baby in comparison.
I watched the movie on impulse. It's my first time watching something starring Song Joongki. I'm new to his work.…
I just counted. I've watched 11 things he's been in with combination of movies and TV shows. His shows like arthdal chronicles, descendants of the sun or Vincenzo is so much better with better acting. Lately he seems to be doing more global/international movies, with this and another movie he did last year or the year before taking place in France.
It's worth the 2 hour watch time if you want some thrills and something interesting set in Japan.
Pretty good show, regardless
