i liked it idc what yall say..... (im just desperate for any sort of korean gl content hello can korea PLEASE…
the little bit of GL is what got me to check it out, since I never really seen any GL in Kdramas. I've watched plenty of anime with it though. I think the only GL I remember is one couple in Nevertheless.
I just started watching though and about to start on episode 4.
this is wrong but deaths and killings is right? at least one is legal, 19 is legal age of consent, the other is…
I'm just referring to this drama since that's the very topic and controversy involving this one in which people are uncomfortable. Most of the story in this drama is about death, loss and breaking the cycle of immortality. So much so with there being a grim reaper character. A subplot with a man cheating on and murdering his wife, which is far worse than a young woman falling in love with an immortal character.
Age of consent in Korea is 16, and age of adult is 18 international, 19 Korean age, which she is depicted here and is the legal age of an adult. 20 years is only for alcohol and cigarettes purchase and consumption, just like any other country usually waits a year or 2 after legal adult age to make it legal to them.
Both actors are way over the age of 20 in real life at the time of this filming.
If you're talking solely for the age gap being weird between the two characters, then realistically a 100 year old lady will even be too much considering ML was 900 years old. But this man was portrayed and appeared to look like his late 20s, so going by appearances, there's maybe a 10 year gap. I've seen worse.
it's a sad ending at first with an ass pull plot point at the end to force it into a happy ending
Bok Gwi-Ju (ML) can travel to the past to happy moments he's thinking of at the time in the present day. Do Da-hae (FL) is his link to altering past events because she is a paradox in his power and a key to make his super powers stronger. She wasn't supposed to be alive yet also lives because he goes back in time to save her. He was only able to go back to the point of saving her through another happy memory he had with his family, which he found the child of Do Da-hae and it opened up his powers to alter everything around in his past. They were going to wait until he was an old man and on his death bed to return to the time Do Da-hae was to be saved so they can spend their life together, but other events in the present forced him to go earlier since he sacrificed his life in present day to save his daughter and Do Da-hae. Meanwhile Do Da-hae was pregnant with his son when Bok Gwi-ju sacrificed himself and went to the past to save her. 5 years later, the son inherited powers from his father's side of the family. The son's power was to go to the past and bring things from the past to the present. So the son went back to the past in a time when Bok Gwi-Ju was still alive and brought him 5 years into the future/present day at the ending scene, for the whole family to be back together and live happily ever after.
I’m on episode two and I don’t know if I should continue someone give me advice://…Also does anyone find…
I think her character is 19 years old and then 20 when they really fall in love and such. So she's of legal age in most places. his character is supposed to be an appearance of 29 years. both actors are closer to the same age irl. he was 32 I believe when this was filmed and she was 25.
then there's a timeskip where her character becomes 29 and that's when the real romance is there. but either way, it won't matter because Goblin is actually 900 years old, so even if the character was 30-60 y/o she'd still be a baby in comparison.
I watched the movie on impulse. It's my first time watching something starring Song Joongki. I'm new to his work.…
I just counted. I've watched 11 things he's been in with combination of movies and TV shows. His shows like arthdal chronicles, descendants of the sun or Vincenzo is so much better with better acting. Lately he seems to be doing more global/international movies, with this and another movie he did last year or the year before taking place in France.

Coming from the other side of things, I just finished watching this movie and I've seen a lot of his work. I've watched at least 10 things he's been in or more. Thus is one of the weakest of what he's been in out of all I've seen, and even in this he did a pretty good job, but the movie as a whole didn't really seem all that good in my opinion.

It's funny when there's so many illegal things actually portrayed in dramas like murder, sometimes rape, theft, etc. but let's rate those highly if the story and everything else is good. But 2 consenting adults over the legal age falling in love despite an age gap. oh no, how dare they! If you're going to rate something low because morally you don't think something is right, by that logic you better rate everything low with any immoral and criminal things, since you're believing in the fiction to be reality instead of separating the two. it's one thing to not agree with consistency of the story, but we'd have to rate everything low if we're going by on things not being very moral in just about every story if that's the criteria.
I'm outraged there's blood and death, maybe I should rate it 5 points lower because it's wrong!
South Korea has done quite a few movies like this. it's sick but it leaves an impact and awareness for people…
Parents get busy or thinks everything will be fine until it's not. I'm sure many didn't see these movies yet or have once and forgot. Who knows the reason. If only it got better and safer for the kids though. It happens a lot there and almost everywhere. I think often the kids will walk together as well if they can or have trusted adults outside to supervise.
Fortunately, in Canada where I live, during school hours, there's crossing guards to keep an eye out, plenty of us school bus drivers, parents driving around to bring their kids and teachers. So it's generally safer. But things can still happen outside of that, so parents and kids always need to be cautious and aware to look out for their kids.

Yes, I've seen Silenced as well. Also similar and heartwrenching, both deal with assaults against minor. I think we just care so much that we want to watch to get that impact and hopefully pass it on to others in hope one day there will be less and less attacks against minors like these.
You'll don't understand there were like 30+ men and one little girl within that area. Genuinely feeling sick right…
South Korea has done quite a few movies like this. it's sick but it leaves an impact and awareness for people to protect their children and for men to hopefully learn and not do this. Sadly bad men will always exist, so it's up to good people to try their hardest as well to look after one another, until we can teach and hopefully prevent more bad men who attack children.
another movie you may have a tough time stomaching but tells a good story about this topic is an old movie called: Hope
I just finished along with others posting here. I liked most of it. Some of it dragged on with some unnecessary dialogue. I always felt they wanted to add another part when I saw some areas drag on. I was right when I saw final season 2025.
It's still just as tense as season 1. A little different, but it's better than being more of the same. Looking forward to see what happens after that ending in episode 7.
I don't think they were going for unique. Even the concept in season 1 wasn't unique or new. There's been plenty of battle royale/game competition shows to the death of this kind way before in tv series and anime. This one just resonated because they were children games this time and I guess it shocked most viewers who don't typically watch Asian shows or anime.
Season 2 is still quite tense like the first season, and that's what is important and I think that's what the show is always been about, and of course to highlight the core of human psychology of greed and their basic nature of aggression when they're trapped in a corner with no way to go up, how they'll do anything to survive and trample on others.
Another idea we've seen a lot before, but this series does it pretty well, with good acting, visuals and sound and action. It's a well packaged and put together show, season 2 included. I was just disappointed how this season is cut short with that cliffhanger ending. This season they really fleshed out the characters and the world of Squid game. Season 2 may have not been needed unless you have an interest to learn more to wrap up some unanswered questions.
It wasn't terrible, just way too PG. Especially when you go shows like Euphoria lurking around the corner. I don't…
Koreans are way more conservative when it comes to things like showing any skin and some other things, so you'll rarely see things like nudity or even some bare parts of their skin and drug use, unlike with American shows or shows in the West. That's why they do better with their filming/visuals and sometimes storytelling to make it more appealing.
Just learned his passing after watching My Mister,A fine actor lost to the schemes of dark culture in korea.Due…
Same. I'm on episode 11 and looked him up to see his past stuff, then saw he passed which makes the show feel even more sad. I didn't really know of him before since I watched Parasite in theaters when it came out and didn't realize he played as the rich father in that movie as well. At that time in 2019 or whenever it came out, I was still fairly new to Kdramas so I didn't know any actors yet except for the few I watched back in 2009.
RIP. his appearance and voice reminded me of a Korean version of Alan Rickman who plays Professor Snape in Harry Potter. So he seems like a great actor from what I've watch of My Mister so far.
