1 100% agreed with you. If we’re going to judge every fictional character who’s ever committed sexual assault…
Sure, be critical — no one’s stopping you. But acting like people can’t handle dark, disturbing storylines in fiction without endorsing them in real life? That’s ridiculous.

Revenged Love is a twisted, morally grey drama. It was never marketed as a wholesome romance. The main character is messed up — that’s literally the point. You’re supposed to feel conflicted, uncomfortable, and even disturbed. It’s part of what makes it compelling.

And let’s stop pretending this is the only show that’s ever included rape or violence. Game of Thrones, The Glory, The World of the Married, Kill Bill, Euphoria, even classic Hollywood dramas — all have dark, horrific scenes. Where’s the outrage for those?

No one is “downplaying” rape. No one is saying it’s okay. But portraying something in fiction ≠ promoting it. If you can’t separate the two, then you shouldn’t be watching revenge dramas — or honestly, any drama with morally complex characters.

Being critical is one thing. But acting morally superior while accusing people of accepting rape just because they watch a dark storyline? That’s not critical — that’s performative and insulting.

i haven’t seen enough to have an opinion about wether or not the character is treated as bad in the story, but…
Revenged Love is fiction, not a real-life guidebook on how to behave. The characters aren’t real. The situation isn’t real. If you can’t handle darker themes like revenge or violence in fiction, then maybe this genre — or honestly most TV and film — isn’t for you.

Also, no one is saying rape is okay. But a rape scene in a drama doesn’t mean it’s being romanticized or fantasized about. It’s a plot device — one that exists in countless shows and movies across the world. Where’s this same energy for things like Game of Thrones, The Glory, Euphoria, Prisoners, Itaewon Class, or even Law & Order episodes? Should we cancel all of those too?

People get murdered, tortured, raped, abused, and destroyed in media all the time — not because it’s “okay,” but because it reflects how dark and complex human emotions and stories can be. Fiction explores that. And just because a viewer watches it doesn’t mean they approve of it.

So if this makes you uncomfortable, that’s fine — skip the show.

In episode 9, I found it quite unrealistic how Phi just decided to check out a random boat simply because he sensed something suspicious. In reality, that’s trespassing — you can’t just board someone’s boat uninvited. I know they’re reporters, but is it really worth risking your life for a story? Especially when your partner is with you. I wouldn’t drag my partner into a potentially dangerous situation just based on a gut feeling.

What made it even more far-fetched was them jumping into the ocean at night after getting caught. The men had guns — most people would surrender in that situation. You’re vulnerable in the water, in the dark, and being shot at. Somehow they still managed to get away? It would’ve been more believable if the men had machetes instead — at least that way, the escape wouldn’t seem so impossible.

That said, I love this show! The kiss scene on the island was so romantic. Taiwan taking care of Phi’s injured leg was such a sweet moment. Their teamwork and the way they survived together on the island was the real highlight of the episode for me. Just a thought to make that earlier scene more realistic: swap the guns for machetes!

It’s so irritating to see people judging the show based on the r**e scene. So I will explain for the first and…
1 100% agreed with you. If we’re going to judge every fictional character who’s ever committed sexual assault or any other crime and call them out, then yes, by logic, we need to start with the thousands (actually millions) of TV shows, movies, novels, and web series worldwide where such characters exist. That’s literally every genre—romance, thrillers, action, even sitcoms. Are we going to flood pages for Outlander, Euphoria, Revenge, The Sopranos, Mad Men, Bridgerton, and hundreds of others too? Or is this outrage only reserved for BL dramas?

Fiction is full of flawed, even irredeemable characters. Some are meant to horrify us, some to challenge us, and yes, even some to grow and redeem themselves.

Characters are not real. Actors aren’t their roles.

I just sent you a friend request. I’ll PM you once I finish my research to see if there were any other series that got unfairly low ratings during that period.

How come this didn’t raise any suspicion with MDL? Some of these BLs finished airing months—or even years—ago. You’d think the MDL team would’ve picked up on the pattern of fake reviews by now.

I Feel You Linger in the Air” held an 8.8 rating for so long, so it’s surprising to see it drop—especially considering its strong Thai fanbase. Thank you for your observation, you do make a good point. That said, the drop might also be due to homophobic viewers, especially since BL dramas are now often more popular than traditional heterosexual series.

This was my most recent research on top-rated BLs:
• Revenged Love (🇨🇳 9.0)
• Our Youth (🇯🇵 8.9)
• I Feel You Linger in the Air: Uncut (🇹🇭 8.8)
• Jack and Joker (🇹🇭 8.8)
• Love for Love’s Sake (🇰🇷 8.7)
• See Your Love (🇹🇼 8.7)
• Top Form (🇹🇭 8.7)

So the top-rated BLs from China, Japan, and Korea have all dropped in ratings, while Thailand and Taiwan scores seem to have stayed the same?

Also, what do you mean by “can guess all doing this”? Feel free to PM me if you don’t want to say it publicly.

some ppl think they have a right to rate this with 1.0 just because of a ONE scene in the FIRST episode 😂😂…
They’re entitled to their opinion, but giving Revenged Love a 1/10 after watching only 10 minutes is not just unfair—it’s downright disrespectful to the cast and crew who poured months of effort into this project.

Four episodes next week Let’s hope it’s true and Who keep messing with the ratings?
Do you have a link confirming we’re getting 4 episodes next week? I don’t really trust random people on the internet these days—unless it’s coming directly from the director or official sources.

Which Dimension are you on???
We totally understand that ratings can go up and down—that’s normal.
But dropping from 9 to 8.6 in under an hour? Come on, that’s not just coincidence. Especially when most of the 1-star reviews are from people who clearly don’t even watch BLs. It’s giving troll agenda, not honest feedback.

Just a heads-up for everyone: there are over 700+ BL titles on kisskh (MDL). If we exclude The Untamed (9.0),…
From 9 to 8.6 in one hour? 🤦‍♂️ That’s suspicious AF. Either someone’s orchestrating a hate campaign or a wave of trolls just rolled in.

Probably a bunch of people who didn’t even watch it, just jumping on a bandwagon to downvote. So frustrating when genuinely good content gets dragged like that.

Just a heads-up for everyone: there are over 700+ BL titles on kisskh (MDL). If we exclude The Untamed (9.0), since it’s censored, only 7 out of those 700+ titles—less than 1%—have managed to achieve a rating above 8.7.

Here’s the breakdown of those top-rated titles:
Revenged Love (🇨🇳 9.0)
Our Youth (🇯🇵 8.9)
I Feel You Linger in the Air Uncut (🇹🇭 8.8)
Jack and Joker (🇹🇭 8.8)
Love for Love’s Sake (🇰🇷 8.7)
See Your Love (🇹🇼 8.7)
Top Form (🇹🇭 8.7)

That means Revenged Love has officially become the highest-rated BL on MDL! 🎉 Not just the highest-rated BL series, but one of the highest-rated series overall.

Having watched over 300+ BL dramas myself, I can confidently say Revenged Love is a masterpiece. It keeps you hooked from start to finish— a series that had us all counting down the days, hearts racing every week ❤️🔥, and somehow made 40 minutes feel like just 4. Definitely one of the best BLs ever made.

Title Missing You
Although it’s low budget, I really enjoyed the first episode. That body-to-body kiss in the pool was so erotic—it had me holding my breath. Both male leads are insanely handsome too. Can’t wait for the next episode!
