Just finished and ummm, what exactly is the lesson here? 😠AI is taking over, and no matter how talented or…
I just finished it and feel the same way!! I mean I think they were trying to do social commentary on AI and art and self worth but that aspect really did not land for me. I needed them to have some actual conversations lol.
Did I miss something or did they never address that Ui Jun had a bunch of alcohol in his fridge and drank at the end of episode 2? Was it just that he was very depressed at that time? So strange it was not brought up again unless I really was not paying attention lmao.
I'm an alcoholic who's been sober for 4 years now. I posted how nervous I was about this drama, but I have been enjoying it so far.
I don't think they have completely succeeded in tone. Especially with the mom character: she is desperately trying to get through to her family and they do not respect her boundaries, but she is played as the comedic role.
I do like that they are attempting to make comedic moments outside of just the wild drinking to blackout moments. They are attempting to show how desperate and pitiful one can be in addiction, how overwhelming life can be.
I appreciate how they have hinted at representing different types of alcoholism. I was definitely a social isolator and would drink alone towards the end. I'm interested to see how this is portrayed with Ui Jun, since we have not seen much (and he seems to be perfectly functioning). He must have a TON of guilt and shame in lying to everyone.
Sooyoung really demonstrated her acting ability in ep 4. Taekwondo guy is a bright spot for sure. I'll keep watching and see where it goes.
I'm a recovering alcoholic who has been sober 4 years now.. I'm nervous though how they are going to portray alcoholism. Sometimes all you can do is laugh in your darkest moments, but the reality of the disease is not so funny. Anyway, it seems like drinking is very accepted in Korea from all the other dramas I watch. We shall see!
Can anyone whos read the novel please say how it ends? I just want to know if it ends similar to the series or…
It is very similar to the book. There are 4 parts to the book, two episodes of the series followed one part of the book. I don't think there is much drastically different about the ending.
Agreed. I'm confused as to why everyone in this drama, including the ML, just want to scream at her after finding…
I definitely see your points! I get that their frustration is rooted in care for her. It was just like twisting the knife into an already terrible circumstance, when I wished more of them would communicate how much they care for her and hope she is okay moving forward. And Mo Eum did do a good job of that!
