Also the powerful Bai Ze who would sense the moment he was in pain. But Jiling would suffer and lose his willingness to continue living as a dragon deity and his sadness would consume him and that would be bad for his position. Jiuying fed from death, fear, suffering, sadness and all the negativities. A dragon deity should be free from all negativities or Jiu Ying would sooner or later realise that the one in the Dragon Scale cave was a replacement. IMHO.
