Yes, there are many smart MLs in Cdrama and I love them all but LSY is on another level. He practically raised and educated himself, and still manages to be the smartest among the scholars at the literary contest banguet FL intended for him to be acknowledged by others as he actually is.

Taken into the mansion just because his lousy father wanted to keep the shameful story of his birth known by outsiders but left at the side pavillion without care or allowance. He has the roof on his head but nothing else. So he educated himself by lurking at the study room and finally got the kind heart teacher to give him some secret lessons, literature and martial arts He has a secret agency and secret room while keeping out from everyone suspicion by being the weak person, quiet and without talents. He feed himself and then get more income by selling flowers. He is on a mission, to get revenge for his dear teacher's death. That was his only purpose to live for until LYN came back to the Luo Mansion and his life.
I am not fluent in poem but when Shenyuan finished reciting his excellent poem, with 'seek' as the topic, I even clapped like a fool and almost dropped my tablet 😂😂 Episode 15 ends with a win for MC 👏, only tainted by the presence of creepy LJX who acted as if he was LYN soul mate.
PS. Ci Sha was my beloved Guo Jing in TLOH but everytime LJX shows up on screen, I always expected something bad to happen to LSY. Great acting skills from all main and supporting actors/actress ❤️ 1 episode again today 🥲

I thought 8.7 was too high as a start, especially because it is not a CEO drama or teenage love one, with complicated plots, violence and grey character protagonist. I would like it to start with 8.2 to 8.4 and gets higher with more episodes aired.
More great moments from ep 7! I really love the simple moments the leads are sharing. They are not exactly "romantic"…
I hate the CP. The actor is doing a great job with the character that even looking at his face (amazing micro expressions) makes me want to turn off the screen 😂 Still, the hateful character is much better for me than the annoying characters like the hostage prince and the female general.
8.0??? I thought I had eye problem and had to open MDL on my computer. But why?? Only 7 episodes are aired and so far everything is perfect. The story, the protagonists and even the evil CP is very convincing. The martial arts scenes are praise-worthy. I am shocked. I do not usually rate a drama on the first week but I am now. 10 so far.
For MRJH to finally find the last message from his mother, saying that she believed in him and wished for him to stay alive and never lose hope that one day the truth will come out, but the situation did not allow her to say that makes me crying so hard 😭😭 And that it was Mei Lin, who felt sad at the embroidery slashed by him to save her, paid attention to the empress last work, found the message on the screen and summoned the poor prince to know about his mother love 🥺❤️
I am disliking Yue Qin already. Mei Lin does not need him to save her and has already said it to his face that the feeling she had for him was gratitude and the 'debt' has been paid so they owe each other nothing. Shoo foolish SML (or TML)! Go back to Xiyan! As Murong Jinghe said 'she is MINE'
