Somehow I think the bandit on a mountain story is not everything. Seems there’s a ton more to the Lu Wen character…
I plan to watch this drama on weekend. Is it interesting?

Agreed. Xiao Se maybe Langya's nephew but he was the younger version of XRF. They were both martial artists who were fluent in court politics, the genius in their time who wanted to protect Beili and its people.
Xiao Se was a much better martial artist and more a schemer (smart & cunning) than his uncle.
He avoided getting involved with the court no matter how much the emperor loved and wanted him to be the next ruler.

People here sounding like those who tried to force a rebellion onto Langya and his son 💯

Prince Langya was the smartest & talented prince but was not raised for the court politic and never wished so. He even said that clearly to YXY, so he could stop his obsession.
Loved and respected by his masters, seniors, juniors, peers and Beili people YET MISUNDERSTOOD and even HATED by some viewers who watched the drama but failed to get the message.

Beili is the ruling empire. Did u mean Beique?
I wish peace can be achieved that easy, with just good hearts.
But even in Beili & Tianwaitian, bad people exist.

Lord Yue surely hated that 'ex' 😂😂

TWT was the remnant of Beique who moved to the North after Beique was defeated.

YDZ even called Lord Yue as ex ruler of Beique.
An empire surrenders to a clan?

Title Dashing Youth Spoiler
At least Prince Langya did it.He must have fought Roujin a lot before an edict was issued
It seems that Langya had no allies in the court and being the righteous person with the powerful army, general & 4 guardians of Tianqi supporting him, the court could not control him, and obviously wanted to get rid of him.

Xiao Se finally got to ask Roujin about it. Of why his uncle did not have proper investigation before he was sent to the execution ground.

By the end of the day, Roujin, afraid that he could not keep his throne, was quick to have him executed instead of fighting with Langya against the defamation.
Darn Roujin.
He was a good emperor and a father to Xiao Se, but bad in everything else.

Didn't happen in the book. And its too little too late. Made zero difference. It just made him an even bigger…
The script writer worked together with the creator, for both dramas.
Viewers nay make mistake in recognising the characters but the creator should not make a mess of his own works.
Since he still has more projects to do, he should make a proper outline to each character he created or get an excellent editor to help him.

Wangyou was still an elder in DY, not yet the Abbot as he was in TBOY, so he probably has not yet mastered Divine Eye technique.
And YDZ was long gone before Wuxin was sent to the monk

The scriptwriter did not seem to know the original story nor watch TBOY.
How wonderful 😑

I like Prince Langya too.
He was also Xiao Se (my fave character) beloved uncle.

He promised it to the dying YDZ so it makes no sense that he abandoned him later

I know what you meant.
Yes, even when he was devastated, BDJ should have kept his promise to YDZ and took care of Wuxin.
Watching TBOY only will not show us how strong the bond between BDJ and YDZ so his negligence of Wuxin was not a big deal. He was after all, living a hell of the past.
But DY messed it up.
The inconsistencies are so consistent.

The ending changed lots of things in TBOY. That is why it is awful for me.
A depressed and full of regrets BDJ worked with TBOY outline. He did not even bother to see his dearest friend's offspring because of his sad and haunting past.

In the drama, she was prepared the knife and ready to kill herself because she thought no one would come to save her, not even YDZ. She changed her decision once she heard YDZ screaming.

The only character with clear ages were Wuxin and Tang Lian in TBOY.
We had to guess how old everyone else and DY just made it even confusing.
Ah well...
I need to move on from the awful ending and start watching a new drama.

Roufeng was not the one who made that Helen of Troy marry Roujin. She chose to continue. No one could force her if she really did not want it. Roufeng just smoothened the process so the howling YDZ outside would not be executed.
If he clearly went against Roujin, he might meet his end way earlier.

Let us agree to disagree. I am glad I cancelled reading the book.
With tons of inconsistencies, reading the novel would just show how bad the writer ended up with the drama's outlines
As if he threw too many ingredients into a bowl to bake a supposedly good cake.
