I have decided not to get attached to any characters but Xie Huaian and Ye Zheng. This is Cheng Yi's drama tho, and Xie Huaian is not interested in living anymore so I might still cry a river at the end. I like Xiao Wenjing too and hope that he will become the emperor with his brother (not interested to be one) guarding the empire. Writer can kill everyone else 💀
Everyone had a weakness and Xie Huaian, knew exactly how to make an advantage of that. That was why he left Qingyi in one piece, as a leverage for Aunt Xin, the old lady. Xie Huaian also had his own weakness, attachment to his lonely life, someone he protected at all cost and worried from time to time. Due to that, he was like on 80-90% capacity, but the enemies were too arrogant and made mistake by removing that 10-20% factor. They have unleashed the full power white haired angel of death. Someone whose way of thinking and wits even made Yan Fengshan cautious. And that someone had no restraints nor plan for future now. Xie Huaian lived for now and all about revenge.
This drama is so insanely captivating and keeps making my poor heart jump during my watching but I want more!!

Douban was already on fire twice ever since TVOA aired because they removed all ratings including the ones from fans. They had to close the rating system for a while after the 1&2 -stars raters made massive attack, twice, so they should have investigated those 1&2-stars raters first instead of removing the other raters. Some comments said that those who give 1&2 stars are obviously haters who do not even watch the drama.
Some bloggers thanked Douban for finally addressing this matter since TJOL also suffered the same problems, with more than 100.000 1&2-stars raters. SAB was worse, with almost half of the raters were 1&2 stars raters. Due to so many praises given to The Vendetta of An, many viewers shared their concerns when seeing and reading the 1-star raters nonsensical comments. It has been a worrying fact when it comes to Chengyi's drama since those who follow Douban TVshow Real Time views are aware that both TJOL and TVOA always topped the ranking, so how could they get low rating for the Douban score.
Hopefully this time, all those crazy haters will not get the chances to downrate the score.

Some of them are for its engaging storyline, the plots and twists and for choosing not to waste viewers time with silly or annoying tropes such as: The conversation between ML and the enemy he eliminated. Xie Huaian swiftly went for the kill, no chit chat needed. No 'why did you do it' or 'I am going to kill you' before executing the enemy. No fool character of the drama, to make unfunny jokes or as filler scenes. This drama chose to 'heighten' each character's ability instead of their weakness and used back stories to 'lighten' the intense and dark plots. And no annoying or loud OST that overlapped with the conversation between the characters or ruined the ambiance with the same repeated song.

The Vendetta of An has excellent writing with amazing castline and Xie Huai'an is so far Cheng Yi's best character depiction.
Cheng Yi always immersed into his roles as if they were literally written for him only. Each of the characters was different and he depicted and delivered them all flawlessly. He is already THE ACTOR whose name can attract brands but his portrayal of Xie Huaian, who brings the refreshing & shocking plots to revenge story, has placed his acting performance on a higher level. Impeccable!
The latest episodes are just amazing. Saving Guyu's arc left me gaping and screaming with its insane plot. In fact, every day has episodes that are as great or better than the day before, if it is even possible, since all episodes are so amazing.
With no dragging episodes and no plotholes, the writing has been fabulous, with plots and plot twists, that even viewers (who are so eager and becoming impatient with own theories) have been tricked over and over again.
This revenge drama is on another level and incredibly addictive ❣️

I am not trying to convince anyone here. It was Xie Huai'an who said to the deposed emperor "Liu Ziyan died and Qingyi is captured" in episode 8. In Xie Huaian I trust ☺️ Unless he lied to Xiao Wenjing, which I highly doubt.

There are so many cry worthy scenes in this drama. When Huaian came back with reddened cheeks, only to find his sister was not around, looked for her, smiled at how she was surrounded by kind people and decided to let her stay with them. He was literally 10 and needed a family too but he sacrificed for his sister's sake. And to be a boatman so that he could look after her for the whole 7 years 😭😭😭
What I got was 2 reasons:1) He was set upon by civilians he was nice to during a war, so as a result he now kills…
Huben Army was established and led by General Liu Ziwen and Ziyan was part of it, until he left because for Huaian's father, kill only to save people while Ziyan killed anyone who was a threat for him. He wanted to kill all Liu clan members, including Huaian & Bai Wan, but they survived the massacre.
