Ah okay. For me, despite the ending (that made me cry and curse the writer), it is one of Cheng Yi's best character portrayals. He had to play 3 characters and the director knew very well how to showcase Chengyi's flawless acting skills by showing the contrast personalities his 2 characters had.
Why? He did well for The Journey of Legend. Low rating on MDL and on CPlatforms were all haters work, who downrated right after ep 1 minute 1 aired. For me, as long as it is not SAB's writer, then it is okay.

Thousands of raters to bring down a score might work for Douban, but not MDL.
