Yes, I read about the insults too. I started late since I waited until LitC ended first but I really avoided going to this page or bothered to explain that Su Muyu character was like that. Let them watch more and understand. He was also underestimated on Weibo. So glad that it was all in the past.
I am so looking forward for TBOY2. This drama mentioned 8 and 12 years after, which is TBOY era.
PS. DY is full of handsome male characters, more than BR but it has too many inconsistencies with TBOY I could not fully enjoy it. Only later the writer asked the viewers to treat it as a standalone. We have a unique writer here. Inconsistencies = treat as a standalone ππ
So will I. This will be the first airing drama where I peek-a-boo at the last episode. π
Yes I do and yes, I will not watch the rest of it if it is sad ending, which is better for me than watching all episodes only to know it is a sad ending π
So will I. This will be the first airing drama where I peek-a-boo at the last episode. π
I always peek on the last episode first, but this is the first time I feel both anxious and annoyed. Cheng Yi, Cheng Yi, Cheng Yi! Done Biar tetap semangat ππ
Finally, with the express today, everyone will know whether it will be a happy ending for Wangquan Fugui or not. Sadly enough, as a romance finder, I do not connect to the romance anymore, not when they decided to mix what look like a spin-off drama to the main story π₯² It was so great, even amazing, until the drama took the ML's screentime away, in a male centric drama at that. Cheng Yi as Fugui was supposed to be the center of the story (the reason of why ads sponsored this drama), but they took him out of not a few but 10 episodes, and some more with less of him.
It was good at first, to introduce the supporting cast who were important to take down the black fox, then they dragged the characters love stories into more episodes and worse, much screentime to an additional villain character, and making viewers lost connection to the well built story and subtle romance between ML and FL.
Although it is hard to see now, I am still confident that with Cheng Yi and Li Yitong's acting skills, viewers can still believe that Fugui and QT were so in love with just 4 episodes left. Whatever happens at the end, Fugui must come back alive or the whole thing will be a waste. The original idea and goal of the three dramas will lose its purpose.
I will go straight to the ending and it will decide my happiness or my wrath for the drama's already messy writing.
πΆ My heart no longer my own. No one can escape from love πΆ (OST, Zhou Shen)
The writer might want viewers to consider this drama as a standalone rather than a prequel to TBOY because of some inconsistencies but for me, Blood River helped A LOT in connecting the missing info in TBOY (especially about Prince Langya) and although less complicated in plots and storywise, BR can stand proudly side by side with TBOY. For characters delivering, especially related to female characters, BR is better written than TBOY. Not only for the strong independent female characters but also in the characterization. Most viewers believed in the progressing subtle romance in BR rather than TBOY where viewers were split between those who favored and hated. It also helped that romance, even as a subplot, was shown since the early episodes.
Started with viewers being worried about his Su Muyu depiction; not because Gong Jun's capability as an actor, but mostly because he is very handsome some people doubted his ability in portraying the aloof, expressionless and very strict Su Muyu in both previous dramas; Gong Jun showed off his flawless a character portrayal and earned more and more appreciation each day. He totally slayed Su Muyu role with his icy appearance but kind eyes, spoke only with brutal honestly, the beautiful martial arts expert with beautiful sword plays and the loving gaze and little smiles for the girl he loved. The heart break scene was outstanding. My heart felt like I was the one who lost my beloved watching Su Muyu sobbing soundlessly from the shattering news.
BR for me is Gong Jun's best drama. My appreciation also goes to the rest of the team. All the actors and actresses have done a great job in making this drama very worth watching.
This drama has been a satisfying watch for me from the start, with no dragging or filler scenes and has a beautiful ending (epilogue) that makes me smile happily. And with wonderful fighting scenes, this drama deserves my solid 10 π
It is all it is.
We will know more at 6 PM
Page only says about bonus chapter packs.
Even the lying down motionless Su Muyu was breath-taking.
