I'm so annoyed that I finshed the ten eps already like it's getting relly interesting lol
ikr. I've watched them 3 or 4 times over already. I was a bit wary at the start since it seemed the ML was some sort of crossed eyed bland and uninteresting character, but they've all grown on me. Am excited to see how it continues, can't wait for tonights eps.
The script is top notch too. Instead of the blatant scene set up of FL getting comfy by taking off her clothes to sleep (and thereby being at risk of being discovered) she chides herself and keeps them on. When asked by the ML in ep10 about what she'd do if she was a lady again, whether her previous engagement would still exist, she knocks the thought of being known as a lady again down immediately. A common sense scripted character ... who woulda thunk it. Such a breath of fresh air after having recently struggled through watching 'legend of jinyan'.
There's good humorous moments scattered throughout too.
And I'm seriously thinking of starting a partition to get that little tyke who is beside the dr in the jail in ep10 some sort of 'up & coming star' award. He's too cute for words. In fact a number of what are seemingly one-off side characters - like that dr and the kid - are so enjoyable I'm hoping to see them again.
High hopes for this series so far. Strongly hope this momentum continues.
This is a sleeper hit because of a decent script, a believable woman hiding as a man and the adorable chemistry…
I think that little kid in the cell with the dr in episode 10 is just the cutest little one ever! With that much cuteness in the series, it's guaranteed to be a winner.
Oh my god, what happened to the ending (more like the last 8 episodes of this series?) I think the main issue…
My favorite scene in the SS original was on the mountain by the river where, after ML has his initial shock of realising FL is actually female, the panic the FL exhibits due to arriving group of scholars makes him shake off the shock of what it means to him, and realise what being discovered as female means to her.
Apart from the single exclamation that she's female, not a word more spoken by them, it's all in their (particularly his) acting.
You're right, sulkytofu, in the original hiding her identity and the fear of being discovered felt like it had consequence. Meanwhile in this adaptation she had girly moments while asking if he'd marry her sister.
Now that I've posted the link, I feel a degree of responsibility towards any who might follow the link to read the novel.
If you're a sensitive soul... ...stay the hell away from this novel
If you have past life experiences which might cause you to be 'triggered' on reading abuse material... ...stay the hell away from this novel
If you're someone who gets their jollies from torture and rape porn, plus happens to also like some supernatural wuxia type fantasies... ....this might be right up your alley, so to speak.
While the details section says today 15/8, it also says the total episodes is 36. As of today the episodes released is 28 for VIP iqiy members. Given the release schedule of thursday, friday and saturdays episode 36 should be available on saturday 23rd for VIP iqiy members, and saturday 30th for non-VIP members.
I don't speak chinese and I'm having a difficulty in the translation, I'm hoping one of the contributors to this board can help.
The translation keeps referring to "Mr Wang". However the sound (sounds to me like 'Wan Shu'), which I've heard in other c-dramas, is usually translated in those other dramas as something like 'emperor' or 'king'. In SS this character position was the nation's emporer/king.
Is 'Mr Wang' accurately 'Mr Wang', or a mistranslation that should instead be 'emperor'?
Dance of the Phoenix just started this past weekend on WeTV. The few episodes so far are good. Also, have you…
The upside to being completely oblivious to the celebrity goings-on in asian countries (since I don't live there and I don't speak any of the languages) is I get to watch asian dramas with absolutely zero understanding of who the actors 'are' in real life.

...why the uploader added the Final Fantasy X 'to Zanarkand' soundtrack to it, I have no idea...
Yippee, don't have to wait the extra full week!!
Edit: Nevermind .... looks like I'll just have to wait the extra week. ; )

Really helps with immersion into the story!
