After Jiyong smiles wistfully at DZ and SM hugging and the camera pans to a cut on his arm… and the trailer for ep 25 (where he says SM is a lucky man)… oh man I’m getting death flags that he’ll sacrifice himself for DZ’s happiness
Does anyone have any recommendations on cdramas with very possessive male leads (e.g. Xie Wei from SoKP and DFQC from LBaD)? The more red flag, the better. Thanks!
you want him to remember just for a Cdrama cliche lol that ml has to fall in love first and on first sight lol…
Yes :) Ideally FL likes him at first sight too tho lol (more like both feel chemistry at first sight, which I think is implied, so it makes their “fate” more compelling)
The scene I’m talking about is near the end of episode 13, when injured Dou Zhao emotionally ran to Song Mo…
“ It would be such a shame to bypass all that and jump straight to a “comfortable long-term couple” vibe. Like a particular other drama I've watched recently ... >_>” totally feel you on the trauma from the other drama…. I’ve seen trailers of more tension scenes that haven’t been shown yet, so fingers crossed this won’t happen!
In the ep 10 prison scene where Ji Yong asks FL and ML “if they plan to get on the boat together”, “boat” sounds the same as “bed” in Chinese, so that’s why his question was met with awkward silence 😁
Also end of ep 9 when the FL says to ML she can find evidence of the framing if he takes her on the “boat”… then he pushes her against the wooden cross
I watched eps 1-20 and skipped to 23-24, so take my word with a grain of salt. But it seems like her mom comes to visit her at the end of episode 19, right after the leads get together. Then they have to hide their relationship the entire time cuz of her mom. Then it seems like the mom was a catalyst in them breaking up. The writer really did us dirty with the romance arc and gave too much character development / screen time to the side characters vs the ML.
Seriously… I think they’re trying too hard to be realistic. It would have still been realistic to let the leads stay together but note that they still have issues to work through 😐
I think it’s closer to a “happy” open ending regarding the main leads (but they aren’t together at the end). And then every other “ending” is more definitively happy.

Year of c-traumas :(
