There was no helping Muro, he was an unpredictable ticking time bomb and not at all safe to be operated outside in the world, regardless of how absolutely charming and cute he was. So it was either jail or kill for him and as much as the ML himself wasn't normal, he knew Muro wasn't stable enough to be reliable. I was actually shocked when he'd asked him to run away before...like you're gonna let him unleash upon the world lol?
He also liked the guy enough to want to commit suicide after killing him so there's the bromance.
