If we measured our lives based on who gets what we will never be happy. MiJi is not abandoning herself by taking care of others, neither is HoSu a burden because he has a handicap. Mindset can change everything. MiJi finds purpose in being a care taker, it gives her joy to feel needed and empowers her knowing that her presence brings others joy. MiRae is the eternal pessimistic, having a rich husband isn't going to cure her of her problems, her struggle is to make peace with herself. Both sisters have different strengths, life they each will live will suit their own unique needs. MiRae does not want to be MiJi, any more than MiJi wants to be MiRae.

Title The On1y One
Yes, I agree that they should stop making BL series that has two parts because the second part never every get…
We got lucky with we best love they gave us 2 seasons. That is why I can't watch this drama there is no ending, I would go mad over a cliffhanger ending.

Ironically the press conference was the most honest thing he did. he has set everyone free from hoping he felt any shame.

His PR team secretly hates him lol.Till date, they haven't given him a single good advice. He was already getting…
Korean celebrities need to understand that because of Kentertainment becoming popular internationally they are not just answerable to subcontinent fans they have to understand the pulse of global fans. While coming all decked up looking perfect with gorgeous hair bowing deeply so your nose touches your knees might impress your country fans, it will not impress Disney or Netflix or international brands that are paying you. International audiences don't care much for histrionics, they put more weight on what is being said, and what actions you will take to improve yourself. Unless his PR strategy is to save face in SK he does not care what the world thinks. Losing Prada is nothing compared to your own countrymen sentencing you to death.

This press conference was the worst advice, words said whoever wrote them was insane, if it his own I guess you can give props to his guts to spew such nonsense. I do not know how this is received in SK, but for everywhere else in the world this should be shown in PR schools on how not to do a press conference.

OK I saw a headline and read this so I rushed right over to check out all of your comments about Netflix' subtitles.…
Yes English subtitles have been failing for a long time, not just this drama many others. If you know an alternate language other than korean watching dubbing is superior than watching korean.

Finally someone who saw what I saw it was clear they wouldn't end up together. Gwan Sik didn't need guidance from…
Because the underlying problem is Asian culture makes it about mom versus wife. How about right versus wrong, make a man choose that. Her father did not just choose his wife he chose to do the right thing, so he did not abandon his mom.

Im gonna be honest, it might sounds bad but really FL shot her daughter in foot when she didn't teach basics to…
Her parents taught her what really matters that is knowing your self worth and confidence to make the tough decisions in life. It is those critical values that stopped her from marrying the wrong guy, marrying the right person is the most important of a person's life, it is a make or break decision that can destroy if you choose wrong. The drama/writer has given you an example within their own narrative look at how her ex BF lived and see how she will live. Rest of it is not a deal breaker in life, what is important is to build character, when you have the right character you can learn anything you WANT to learn.

Interesting how parallels were drawn b/w Yeong Beom and Gwan Sik but in the end Geum Myeong did not end up marrying…
That is clever of the writer to show even though both the boy friend and father actions are similar they are not the same men in character. Her father's actions towards caring for his wife reached the depths of his soul, whereas her boy friend actions had that superficial similarity like recreating something you saw or read someplace else you might be able to repeat it but you cannot sustain it.

I think the volume 4 will be mostly about him. So I dont think its even a support role, it might be main.. like…
He is credited as guest role if his role is more screen time that is a possible hint on who IU ends up with

what, why? :(
This is true of any big star, they each have their fanatics who uphold them to god status, do immature stuff to malign other actors out of jealousy or just spite and behave in ways that makes you question if they have any common sense. But that can't be the actor's fault unless he/she encourages/condones such behavior, seems unfair to hate on an actor over the behavior of his crazy fans.

5.5 if I remember it correctly.
MDL is inflated by comparison Douban looks like they are hating on every drama, by their standards they give 6s for a good drama. for ex they scored HL 6.7. They are reasonably consistent on what qualifies as an excellent show and if you look at their list of highest rated shows there is not much pure romance.
On When Life Gives You Tangerines Mar 13, 2025
It Is not usual we get to see a kdrama that deals with poverty, removed from branded clothes, exhausted looks, real messiness of life, genuine grime not pretend. It is not really a big weakness but everything is about FL, wish there is more balance with the ML's POV. The standout character was Ae Sun's mom, she was brilliant, her energy in every scene, her struggles her pain felt real and leaves a huge footprint on the drama.

EDIT- My comment that I wished to see more of what the husband is thinking is not meant to injure the sentiments of women. He is a generous soul every woman deserves a husband like him, my intention is to know him better.

Yes the last lines bought tears to my eyes.

WOW just wow it has been a long time since I have been satisfied with a finale. Flowers are Xuo Ruo Han's good luck charm, where there are flowers she will bloom beautifully and we will be there watching. Zhang Ling He has never looked more handsome, but it wasn't all just about the looks, his acting levels up. This drama has one of the best dating phases, healthy, growth, peaceful, sweetness that did not give you a toothache it just made you smile your heart swelled. You can never escape the cliches especially romance, no drama can ever do without them, THE BEST THING presents a simple story with all its cliches in a successful way.

"Hope everyone with a good heart can find a long-lasting love in the gaps of life. It's okay. Learn to love yourself first, more than anyone else in the world. If you can't find that person yet, or you've lost the courage to search, And someone will appear in the light shining through the crack"

The finale message a force of positivity universal to all

This show did not monologues but rather one-to-one conversations with someone. She had to come to a point to be…
I wonder if they didn't give SY any story is because this is WYF's story and the plot is burdened with having to shoulder her trauma they didn't want the spotlight taken away from that. It is hard to say if a more extroverted ML could have been a better fit for the introverted FL, but the tone of the drama is melo so not sure a more vibrant protagonist would work.
We are all making conjectures that this or that would be more realistic, prejudiced by our realities and experiences, however everyone's reality is different. This is the writer's POV, ultimately this is fiction so the only verdict that matters is was it entertaining?
On The First Frost Mar 8, 2025
I wonder if the drama would not be so controversial if we got more monologues from Wang Yifan, yes we got a few but not enough to really understand her why she does what she does. She is a silent sombre character that exists too much in her head and all the burden placed on the actress to convey silent feelings to the audience which we have to guess. If we knew what she is thinking even if didn't agree we can sympathize with her plight.
On The Best Thing Mar 8, 2025
Nice to read unanimous positivity in the comments, this drama is the right amount of cute yet mature. Round of applause for the acting by both leads, Zhang Ling He shows his strengths he is effortlessly charming there is an ease to his performance without being weighed down by wigs and costumes, and ofcourse fan of Xu Ruo Han since seeing her in forbidden flower one of the most expressive actors.
