Title Marry My Husband Spoiler
one of the very reasons why this was ruined for me was the fl reaction and they way she behaved this whole ep…
Absolutely agree with your assessment of Ji-Won. That’s what I take from it as well. Ji-Won just wants a clean break and doesn’t want to get wrapped up with someone like Su-Min again who will make her life a living hell and thinks Yu-Ra will be the same as Su-Min if she gets involved with Ji-Hyuk.

I don’t think these things necessarily will make it a mess going forward. It’s all about the ‘HOW’ they will be done. There are dramas that incorporate these and execute them quite well, so there is still hope that MMH can do a good job of future episodes. It’s all done to how well these things are executed.

Lmao. I skip that ad. Everytime.
I’ve gotten to know this ad so much, it now feels like part of my family and eligible to receive my inheritance. 😂😂

I've been watching it so far and truly loving it! However, I still haven't watched ep 11 and 12 because of work,…
The drama is following the web novel (which it is based off of), so only some of the scenes in the drama are the same or similar to those in the webtoon.

Title Happy Ending Spoiler
I don’t think this is an open ending. From what I understood, they resolved their feelings/realised they liked each other that night. It’s insinuated that they’ve been together ever since and that Dong-Ho is the one coming to pick up his boyfriend, Hyun from the bookstore who has essentially been going down memory lane looking through the old notebook. Each part of the story is revealed bit by bit to the viewer but it does have a conclusion and the conclusion is that they are together and have been together since that night. The “You’re here” comes across as a couple greeting each other. Hyun is not surprised to see the person and you don’t get the impression that it’s been a while since he’s seen that person since his smile feels warm and intimate. It sounds like someone picking their significant other up to take them home. Like, “Oh, honey you’re here. You’re late. Ready to go.”

Title A Shop for Killers Spoiler
why the agency let bale and his group killed jinman's family?
Although not explicitly stated, they alluded to it being because Jin-Man set up his own operation of selling weapons etc, smuggled out a witness (basically going against their operation protocol) and finally the most cardinal of sins; leaving the agency. This is what I think Babylon sees as a betrayal. If Jin-Man is not one of them, then he is the enemy. As for Bale and his cronies, their beef with Jin-Man is different. They’re mad he tried to kill Bale which is very hypocritical considering those losers were the first to kill their own but it just goes to show how megalomaniacs always have one rule for themselves and another rule for everyone else.

Notably Babylon left Jin-Man alone for years, as per the deal with the old man. Bale and his team were acting on their own when they went after Jin-Man after all these years. The reason why Babylon got involved now is because they presumed Jin-Man was dead and there was a shop up for grabs. Hence the bounty on the heads of Munhye, Pasin and Jian as they were the only things standing between Babylon gaining control of the shop.

The version without the ex-fiancé is the web novel. It’s the original. @YouToon is saying it’s on Yonder.

Some of us know that Su-Min’s craziness towards the FL isn’t done yet, so to say that ppl weren’t expecting…
For your first point, even from the first episode Su-Min’s character was shown with a lot more depth. They first showed her as a ‘doting’ friend and then the switch to showing her betrayal which was so quietly menacing. The actress who plays Su-Min in the first episode alone, portrayed different shades of the same character. So did Min-Hwan in fact, in the moments that he goes from pretending to be nice to showing his anger. From the beginning these characters were never two dimensional. They’ve always been nuanced. You hear people saying all the time that they dislike the characters but they are almost always praising the portrayals.

As for your second point, no, I don’t have an issue with the FL handling the ML because I understand the reasoning behind it even though I think they could have done a little better with illustrating that to the audience but overall I think they did an ok enough job with it.

The other issues are that this last episode and to a lesser extent the previous episode; come across as a bit messy with how they tie all parts of the narrative together and how they go about telling each part of the story for these two episodes compared to the previous episodes. I don’t think it’s an editing problem. The narrative comes across less cohesively in these last two episodes. It makes the quality of writing seem less on par with the previous episodes. The execution might be part of the reason.

True it’s unfinished but I’m spotting the problem that a lot of kdramas have been having in the last two years and that is that they fall apart towards the end. It looks like this show is heading in that direction but I really really hope it is able to pull that quality storytelling back because I think this show has been good overall and has huge potential to be a great kdrama.

When you read a webtoon and set your expectations based on the webtoon, you will not enjoy any drama no matter…
I don’t know about that. I know this isn’t based on the webtoon but I’ve watched several dramas adapted from webtoons and I enjoyed both versions. I didn’t find any of the drama adaptations disappointing. For example, I just finished Good day to be a dog and I enjoyed it. I read the webtoon prior to watching. I also did the same for Perfect Marriage Revenge, Death’s Game, Tomorrow etc. All dramas I thoroughly enjoyed and viewed after reading the webtoon first.

I like how in MDL you can have people praised a show like no tomorrow and the next episode all you see it's the…
Some of us know that Su-Min’s craziness towards the FL isn’t done yet, so to say that ppl weren’t expecting anymore struggles is wildly disingenuous. If it’s unclear to you what people are critiquing it’s that the conflict with Su-Min and co is written and executed far better than the conflict with Yu-Ra, which is playing out like a rookie k-drama instead of the polished episodes we’ve had prior. And what’s worse, how this whole Yu-Ra thing is being portrayed isn’t the only issue with these last two episodes. The quality of the storytelling has dipped. Here’s hoping they’ll bring the quality back.

Thanks for clarifying. I’m quite surprised MDL allows viewers to rate future episodes. I would have thought that was something they wouldn’t allow. Anyway, you learn something new everyday. 😅

Some of the directions this adaptation has gone in has made some of the satisfying moments from the story less…
I think I get what you are saying. That is a fair assessment. However, whenever I was reading a chapter of the webtoon I never felt dissatisfied with the events. Every route it took made sense. I know I had the advantage of binging the webtoon but at no point did I feel annoyed or critical of the way things were unfolding from one chapter to the next. I’m in danger of sounding like someone who has a problem with adaptations in general but that’s not where I’m coming from. I love adaptations. I love adaptations that are done well. I love stories that are told well. I am not precious about keeping things true to the original source material or any prior adaptations. I’m watching this with fresh eyes. The comparisons come when I notice that certain parts have been executed better in the webtoon. In the same way I noticed that I am enjoying some of the ‘new to me’ parts in the drama better, such as this version of Mr Lee and how they’ve make Mrs Yang’s story more reflect Ji-Won’s past life. You’re right that they can develop characters further as there are 4 episodes to come. Right now though, the school friends are still coming across as bullies. I look forward to them developing these characters further.
