Just a quick question to people in the comments. Who is voting on/rating episodes that haven’t been released yet (or have I read wrong and misunderstood the ratings system)?

Not disagreeing with anything you said or even the intention behind what was portrayed on screen for these characters. I just don’t think they did as convincing a job in this dramas as the webtoon did of getting that message across about the bullies changing. If the drama follows the web novel exactly in this regard, then that means the web novel didn’t do a good job of getting that across either. The writer’s intention is one thing but is that the way it comes across on screen? To me it comes across as more bullying. If you go back to the reunion scene in the restaurant, Ji-Won says to the girls that because of some wrong they thought she had done, they made her life hell but it was just an excuse to torture her. Sure seems like it’s the same reasoning they’re using for Su-Min (even though she does deserve it). Again, not saying this is the intention but unfortunately, this is how it’s coming across.

A good watch. The conclusion made sense to me. I pretty much gathered the nature of each character but I didn’t know exactly what/who each character would turn out to be, so was not surprised by the twist. It’s unpolished but a decent drama.

People are not upset because they lack the media literacy skills to understand the fact that Jiwon still has to…
Yes, 100%. It’s the inconsistency that people are picking up on and this criticism is valid and not to be dismissed. Storytelling IS supposed to be consistent. Otherwise things start to feel ‘off’ or like the reasoning doesn’t make sense, like you said. For all the people in the comments being deliberately obtuse and saying that people are just mad they’re not following the webtoon because they’re following the web novel; MOST PEOPLE HAVEN’T READ EITHER OF THESE and still they’re picking up on how inconsistent the storytelling has gotten in the last two episodes. Maybe that means this part of the web novel is not so well written. I can’t say. I haven’t read it. All I know is that from watching the last two episodes, the story seems a little all over the place. The previous episodes were tighter, more cohesive and the story more linear.

He knows. That’s what he likes about her and that makes his character all the more f-ed up. 😳

Ok so webtoon/Manhwa readers, enlighten us, please. does this level of craziness we just watched happen in the…
I have read the webtoon but not the web novel. I’m told this is following the web novel. At this stage the story differs a lot from the webtoon so I can’t say what to expect next. I personally find the way the story plays out in the webtoon more satisfying and the better adaptation so far, but that’s just me.

True but there are 5 episodes left. They cannot fill them with happy Ji-won and happy Ji-hyuk only.
I’ve been thinking now that we’re in 2024 it might be time to retire certain tropes. It’s becoming clear that there are certain k-drama tropes that absolutely nobody likes and what’s worse, it makes the drama go down in the viewers’ estimations. I’d love to see MDL do a ‘Marry-Kill-Avoid’ poll of k-drama tropes to see which tropes we’d like to axe for good, which tropes we just prefer to avoid and which tropes we’d like to keep.

Strongberry is not mainstream media but more like an independent company so they usually do short shows but are…
People are really sleeping on Strongberry. They should be given their flowers because almost all of their short films are well executed, have interesting concepts and great acting. Truly their only limit is funding, because they have the talent as a studio to create full length masterpieces. Someone said over on YouTube that if Strongberry ever receives the funding to do full series all the time, they’re gonna dominate the industry and I have to agree.

Strongberry is still a relatively small studio compared to the other bl giants such as GMMTV. This is why Strongberry does a lot of bl short films. I quite enjoy these and never want the creation of bl short films to stop. Every once in a while, one of their short films gets picked up/receives funding for a full series, like ‘Long Time No See’ and ‘Choco Milk Shake’. So many other small studios produce one episode or two episode bls and short films. The lack of funding is the reason for this.

It feels good that the high school bully gets like character development off screen but also on screen, this isn't…
Some of the directions this adaptation has gone in has made some of the satisfying moments from the story less satisfying, The school bullies is one of them. As someone who has read prior adaptations and now watching the series, I also feel the bullies’ redemption arc was lacking somewhat in the drama. It’s a shame because unless that redemption is done right, they still come across as bullies. Their redemption essentially, is now them bullying someone else.

This was my way of saying the story still has a lot of obstacles left to flesh out. We’re only just about half way through the actual story even though we are over half way through the show, so it was never going to be boring if they never introduced any new stuff. But I’m not knocking the new additions, I’m kinda excited to see where it goes.

There’s actually enough material/ obstacles to fill 16 episodes, whether it’s the webtoon or the webnovel.

I feel like we all watched different dramas when I read these comments! It’s amazing.. This show is many things.…
You’ll get to a point where you’ll be able to distinguish between comments that relate to the actual contents of a drama and the comments that are really talking about external things that they’re bringing into the show to critique the show. Often it’s their own biases that they’re bringing in. Sometimes, it’s not knowing enough about how personal relationships work in Asian cultures (Japanese and Korean cultures in particular face this) and other times it’s casting critiques. There’s also a disconcerting effort (it seems) to bring down the ratings of previously popular/well rated bls. Best to just give something a try if it interested you in the first place. 🙂

Is this a great bl regardless of which country it’s from: YES!
Was this one of the better Thai bls: Absolutely 👍
Did it let itself down in the end: Yup, but it’s still fantastic overall!!
Did it make it to my top 20 favourite bls of all time: Sure did ✔️
Would I recommend it till the day I die: You betcha!

Title A Shop for Killers Spoiler
Was Jian away for school when Jinman died? Otherwise, Jian would have met Jeongmin even before the funeral since…
And I’m really hoping we get this scene in a killer flashback when Jian is in a final showdown with the bad guys and she uses the same trick she learned and used on Jin-Man to finally get close enough to hit him. That would be an EPIC full circle moment. 😁

Have a questions about an odd item they focus on at the end of episode 4. Will post in comment.
I have so many theories about the glasses and how they fit in but they all depend on my theories about Jin-Man and what his end game is but for sure; I believe they are significant.
