I already told you this, but I watched this series because of your excellent review. I was honestly traumatised…

Review Me and Who Spoiler
I agreed with you, the finale felt rushed, But it is also unreleastic I dropped my rating from a 10 to a 9 because…
This story was a complete fantasy, so of course the finale does not make much sense. The real Apo may have died, but also was happier in the "other" realm.

Of course nobody would take this story seriously, it was just pure entertainment and nothing more. But compared to Ossan's Love or My Sweatheart Jom, they dialed the comedy stuff back and made the characters much more serious and much more believable. So in my case, they got an 8.0 regardless of the cringe, because they put seriousness into a comedy and I was entertained most of the time and not bored af compared to their last show. As you can see the story is a 6.5 but other factors elevated the series beyond that imho (acting, costumes, staging, props, music, cinematography). So a 9.0 or higher was never a discussion in my brain. 🤣

I like it more than you :) It was something different from the start. For me it was as nice as S1 of At 25:00 in Akasaka. But of course I can't assume S2 would be also much better than S1 :)))

I'll never understand why you put such effort into reviewing Special Episodes. The last paragraph sums up every…
I also know that :)

Why not is the question. There are not enough honest reviews out there. Reviews where the fans praise their ships don*t really help to make a decision if something is worth watching when you are not into the bubble but are interested with limited time. From my POV I explain why I like some series or why I hate them (or inbetween). Luckily some people factor my reviews in, watch series I like but they would not have thought of watching themselves first. So if this is helping one person alone, that's enough to do it :)

Yes, about S3. I'm not sure, but it could be with a focus more on this side couple with the occasional struggle for Yuki and a nice re-union for the MLs when they meet again :) Even when it should not happen, we had a good run with just two seasons. The next S2 will be Cosmetic Loveplayer and we will see if they can up their level as well...

I loved your headline “same old recycled GMMTV concept” and honestly I agree with you one hundred percent.…
Yes, I do.
It's a different, but: The first continue error was when Saint told Perth he should wait at the car in ep 1 - and we NEVER saw what happened next. It pissed me off tremedously. Such errors or script lapses should never happen. Besides that I would say it's on a solid 7.0 track, but it also has the potential to get boring over time and fall off a cliff. Because William appeared already it will be overhyped as usual. Pond has the fun of his live in this role and Phuwin is always playing the passive one (I don't mean the sexual preference but the character). It would be so much more fun when Phuwin would be the aggressive one to persue his love especially because Pond has grown up with his father saying that love is a weakness. We will see.

Why has "That Summer" an 8.2 which is objectively a bad show and has not the same production quality compared to other shows.

I could ask you why "Century of Love" is a 10 for you - it has the homophobic hetero turns gay tropé which does not make sense in any story and I don't care if it's a fantasy. In 2024 such a tropé should not be supported neither by the fans nor the actors. For me it shows disrespect for the gay community, but that's only my opinion. You do like that couple as well, but you did the same thing imho. On the other hand, we have to accept, that the fan-armies will upvote any crap show regardless of how bad it is.

That's also a reason why GMMTV does not vet the authors and does not care, but the backlash from China made them cancel a show. What a waste of money on the promotion trailer - but they don't care. GMMTV is a BL factory and the bigger a factory gets the more the quality will suffer. Besides the point that the 22 shows will never materialize in 2026. They don't have the capacity to do so and still need to buy externaly to fill up the slots. DaouOffroad are signed with one31 which is more or less the same as GMMTV and both are owned by the same company.

It’s actually mad …I was following the news from a South Korean site and some university professor are debating…
There is no reason to retire... Yes he did something wrong in his past - as EVERYONE does - even if you went to jail - it's about rehabilitation and a second chance. Sorry to say, but Koreans are just stupid.

Ah, I watch so many BLs, I can't keep track of everything, but if I'm unsure or do not understand the story, I binge-watch it again. Otherwise my reviews would not do justice to the series. I don't want that. So better watch again not missing some important points :) And why find my own words, when they already said it themselves? :)))

This series is really made to binge-watch and it did get me again... So my feelings during watching were confirmed. Next week we get the other couple, maybe that's more "standard" BL :)

Lol, it's not just me! I know when I watch these no ones kissing or confessing until episode 5 or 6 the love scene…
No, they don't, because the fanmeets are sold out, and a medicore show is enough to sell them :)

Title The Wicked Game Spoiler
You still asume the writers have any idea what they write about :))) Of course they do not. They have to churn…
I don't think they use speadsheets, except for filming schedules. It may be they cut too much from the novel (because only 10 episodes), it may be they also put something from another series in, just because, it was hectic that day and they were stressed out.
If they would have reversed the death, just Pheem dying, the rest in jail and Chet and his bodyguard united 20 years later or so, it would have been even more fun :)

I don't know if I would call that "artistic vision". 🤔 Watching this I missed artistic vision, lighting, fighting, gun-shooting... at least the last one made me laugh hard especially because there were not enough bullets and the camera was all over the place. 🤣

I guess you refer to "Sister9"....

On the point of blunt: That's my culture, we say what we mean, we do not sugarcoat it. I never said that the actors did not do hard work... we even know filming schedules are insane, often passing 12hours per day... That was never a point. I even mention that I'm sad for the actors needing to take such crap scripts, because they don't have a real choice. There are contractional obligations.

On the point of mean: I even point out the positive things, when there are some. If I would only be mean I would never mention that.

My only opinion is, that such soap opera styled shows are not to my taste. The rest are facts and pointing out logic holes of astory is also a fact not an opinion. 🤣

Did you put that wall of text under Jojo's review as well?Just asking for a friend... or is it because I'm male?
If you attack me, I make assumptions of you. You could just not agree with me, which is fine and don't post 4x the same wall of text and you did assume first: you wrote that I have a bias against thai BL - which is not true.

You post 4x without anything regarding the review itself, just YOUR assumption.

You think, you are right and I'm wrong. But you were wrong to post in the first place.

And it's a personal attack to write: "Please stop being biased and unfair in your reviews" - I'm neither biased against countries or people and what I'm most definitively I'm not is unfair. If I would be unfair such shows should have a 1.0 rating - but it does not.

Next time you post, post about the review itself. Don't assume, don't attack. And of course you did not answer if you read my positive reviews which makes it quite obvious that you don't care about the big picture, you just care about a little bubble which does not align with yours and that infuriates you.

Did you put that wall of text under Jojo's review as well?Just asking for a friend... or is it because I'm male?
a) the downvotes of my reviews
b) the wall of text you posted which has nothing to do with my review
c) Yes my exact words are my OPINION. Why does it ryle you up so much when I articulate my opinion? Does it matter to you?
d) then your parents and teachers are not very intelligent at all. So when a gay man is beaten up, because he is gay you would not say anything, because that would not be nice? Your parents and teachers should teach you to think for yourself, to analyze for yourself and to conclude for yourself. Parents and teachers are guides, but that does not mean they are always right. Many are very wrong, very often.
e) There are people who are alligned with me even if you don't believe it. We may not see eye to eye on everything, but at least they UNDERSTAND my critics. The difference you don't seem to grasp is, that I tell you WHY I think this is bad, WHY this or that makes no sense. I would understand it, if I would only write "This is a shit show" without an explaination. But I do explain it. I also do explain it when I like something. Have you read my review on "Boys in Love"? I don't think so.
