They did some good shows, not all is bad :) I watch everything, so I don't have expectations and don't care about tailers which make the show mostly look better than it will be. At least this show has more substance compared to "We Are" which is the run of the mill enemy to lovers trope while the director already did much better series like "My Only 12%", "Until We Meet Again" and "Absolute Zero". "Perfect10 Liners" comes out soon too, maybe that will be better :)
The director of this show did only paricipate in our skyy 2, so I am surprised he got it that well so far :)

Yes, so far the story is better than expected :) And I agree, it's not forced yet... Will see what the next episode will bring... I'm mostly pestimistic regarding GMM-TV shows, they mostly ruin the story at some point. Of course there are exeptions to this "rule" :) While not earth shattering it has a cute story so far.

japanese culture you are not familar with?
The character is also very insecure which supports his stiffness. I also watched non BL japanese dramas and such characters do exist there as well.

printf "the context of which people do not show their emotions because they were teached to surpress them" if defined culture
You meant a perl statement, right? 🤣

This character also seems to have a social anxiety disorder for anyone he looks up or in his new acting workplace. We don't know the reason of it, because the background information is missing and I doubt it will be explained. I think the acting transports well that he is very insecure resulting in his stiffness.

Title Only Boo!
Seems to be on of the GMM-TV shows which is not ruined by product placements (so far)... Why they needed to do a love-triangle is an other questions... maybe they had no other ideas 🤣

I'm sorry for being extremely off topic with this question but are there any character-driven j-bls you'd recommend?…
thanks a lot and same to you :)

they did NOT replace the actor... they just made him looking a bit older and vica versa, so an other actor would have been the right choice. And then we would have needed more episodes. As you remember he was there when Askorn was born...

Also depends on your mood... some are lighter such as "My School President" which unfortunatly is a school romance, but has incredible music in it. Or you go for the heavy stuff, like "180 degrees..." which is controversial for many, and has a very bad ending but great acting. Or you go for something inbetween. The Novelist Trilogy and Utsukushii Kare are on the heavy side, where the later does need to be watched completely and maybe more than once to understand some of the subtle nuances hidden in the series which not all people get.
The shows will not run away, so take your time but invest in each series even if it's sometimes uncomfortable to watch.

I wouldn't care as long as my lover is trying to better their life : going back to school to obtain a degree,…
moving to another city/country would be negative for your relationsship I suppose :)

Nah, the manga is bad in contrast for me... after the meet in the bar they do have sexual contact which is so boring. This series is much more realistic, sensible and they did change the story in a good way.
What to recommand is a question of taste. You can check my recommended shows where there are some not in a school/college setting. But if you watch for example "Life: Love on the Line" it goes from school to the deathbed. I don't mind the setting if the story is good. "My Personal Weatherman" does not play in a college setting per se, but you get flashbacks there, because the story of the MLs started there. You can watch "Mood Indigo, The Novelist and The Novelist: Playback" in that order to get a grander story but there is a college boy in it :) "Perfect Propose" also has flashback to childhood, so there are few stories without school or college. The only two are of course "Cherry Magic" aka "30-sai made Dotei Da to Mahotsukai ni Nareru rashii" and the movie " Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!: The Movie" and "Old Fashion Cupcake". If you want a relaxing viewing expierence I would recommad "Bokura no Shokutaku" and if you don't mind a potential bad ending "Bokura no Micro na Shuumatsu" can be interesting, but it did start at college too :) The problem in general is, there are not that many japanese shows, so I would also recoomand to expand your horizon and if you agree with my taste, my list may be a good pointer for you.

Even this far into the drama, Shirasaki is still reticent and withdrawn. It's about time he loosened up and expressed…
so you told the plot for the next episode :) I assume that's part of what will happen.

Why drop a three episode series? That's awkward.
they are all nice... not perfect, but better than most...

This BL is tired to me. They're sweet to each other but not enough happening and don't really care for the plot,…

I tried to stick with it because JBLs have always been my favorite, but I'm done. I see that many commenters identify…
"Because I know so little about their backgrounds and motivations, all of their actions feel scripted or forced." Don't see it that way. Of course you don't know about their backgrounds but you can guess that Yuki is reclusive and closed off. Asami is more open and from the episodes so far, he does know Yuki and he has feelings for him since college. That's only subtle hinted but if you watch it, you can see it. Why he didn't act on his feelings, we will see. So yes, you did miss that :)

I'm sorry i've watched A LOT of BL dramas. But i'm just NOT feeling this one for some reason. I'm gay myself and…
neither of them are "sissies"... it's good that it does not feature stereotypes which are annoying as hell... I also don't like words like "sissies" "real man" and shit... Can we agree there are all humans? Why use such word if you are gay yourself? A series is fiction, not everything must be "realistic" for 100%. But also I find it quite realistic if you have been a reclusive closed-off person. And of course this show is manga based (which was not the best), so you have some artistic style coming from it like the thoughts of Yuki.

it's not :) it's just awkward especially for western culture...
That was also not meant for you, it was a general observation. It would be nice, not to think it's adressed to you personaly. I spoke about the japanese culture in general.

My standards are different then yours. And you can watch my list and read my reviews and of course, you don't need to agree with me.

nope :) everyone on any talkshows hugs... sorry, that's silly, especially if you don't know the person. That's what I mean. It has nothing to do with you personally.

Because they have grown up that way. Why do you believe in a god or allah or budda or someone else? Because you were parented that way. The more extrem it gets, the more brain washed children get. To overcome your parenting is very hard to do. And very few people encourage you to think for yourself. To question WHAT your parents, family and the education system told you. Japan was always very strict and conservative and changes do take much longer, but they are changing. So the question is not what they are defending from, the question is when they can brake the parenting of things like "never show your true feelings and open up to other humans". So I can't answer your question, because it's nothing which can be explained. If you can't think for yourself, you will never have a chance to change yourself.

There were some good thai BLs made last year and the year before. But very good series are rare of thousands of series published every year. We should be lucky not to watch a bad one :)

I understand you, but also I understand the culture more ...
Hugging is only for special occassions, that's not like the US where hugging means nothing. But meanwhile even that is changing there slowly but surely...

So I understand why it's frustrating... but that's the charm for me. You can watch thai BLs where there is log of hugging, kissing and sex but with bland stories and lot's of commercial :)

Protecting yourself means to build up a wall around you. It's a defensive posture not a submissive one.

At least I agree with most title on your list :)

PS.: "Love is like a Xat" IS disappointing for me. So I hope this show will get better the farther they are which is prefered to beginning strong and ending weak like "Last Twilight"
