Finally, a C-drama where we can see face skin with pores and sweat! The sweaty faces and neck are so appealing! It feels real, like we are in the tropical place where they are!
(I hope ppl don't come at me for this...)I still can't help feeling sad thinking about Ji Ling. I know everyone…
It helps if you study Buddhist and Tao precepts before delving into Edward Guo's work. The idea of Impermanence and the ephemeral nature of desire are central to his work. The foxes are demons, who live long enough to instill the desire into human beings. But wise humans, make an effort to get out of its charms, because for them, it's eternal condemnation to longing without ever getting ultimate satisfaction.

It's an allegory for growing up and couples diverging. A woman may fall in love with a guy in his twenties for example, get engaged, and after 5 years together, she doesn't recognise him anymore, because the conditions of his life, health, work, responsibilities have contributed to his maturing and not being an innocent lovestruck lad...Or a guy romanticizes in his memory a woman he fell in love with in their younger days, but never got together. And a chance meeting of them, 10 years later, will make them think "what was I thinking?"
what do u enjoy? yesterday i replied to you calling deaths game, a show about the asian principles or reincarnation…
Mephisto is right pointing out the insame marketing campaign of your average idol drama. Ok, I kinda enjoyed watching POJ, although I skipped many episodes and ffw others. But I have watched plenty of good dramas. Or even I noticed and liked Zhang Linghe since Journey to you and Tian Xiwei from Romance in the farm, which I appreciated a lot more than POJ! So, it is a ridiculous effort to brainwash you that NOW the actors and the drama should stun ou and ask for more! And the article is ridiculous showing us our coming works! USually, that's what most fans and I do aftern I finish a drama I liked: waiting for more from the same actor! Eventually, their next drama is subpar! So, no thank you, I will not be looking out for more from these actors. Actually, it's getting boring now, that the same actors are being recast and no new faces appear! That's why everybody loved Deng Kai more than Zhang Linghe!
Those were the days where the cast was full of ugly actors! Even Chen Feiyu hadn't gone through plastic surgery! The subtitles on Wetv are terrible! so, I just skipped this drama...Yet, the production quality and the director did a very good job! Too bad we can't have this quality again on contemporary dramas! The director tried to recreate this "chosen one" story on 2025 with "The Immortal Ascension" with prettier faces. But I dropped on episode 2.
y'all in the comments really got me - i was expecting more - but im on episode 4 and im not impressed --- y'all…
It's horrible. Very shallow script. Ren Mi plays a ridiculous character and her acting is sub-par. She intrudes into ML's life shamelessly, and on the other hand she's a moral pillar, not accepting money. The cases are cliche stuff that show family troubles viewers can relate to...I wasted my time till ep.14 because nothing good was airing. But I finally have a better drama to watch!
A striking analogy of the Buddhist notion of "no-self" , with the wooden puppets! Awakening to the fact that we have no value greater than the all-encompassing Awareness. Soul shards looking for identity. Tian Jia Rui's path through time and self-delusion. Innocence and pure love was a part of him. If he is more than that, has he outgrown this self as Ji Ling?
Guyss should I buy subscription for youku?? Idk if it’s worth it
It's worth it. You can find there many popular dramas of the past, like Starry Love, Blood of youth, Love in the clouds, The first Frost, Blood River...
Ep. 1 - 5: So I've forwarded most of the episodes just to see ML & FL's scenes. This drama was filmed 2 years…
Totally agree. And the lighting doesn't help the ambiance... Everything is brightly lit. Chen Feiyu's voice comes forced and the sound doesn't match the environment.
