That's the healthy choice for an abused woman to get out of a toxic relationship, or be proactive, see the red flags and never get involved with a traumatised man who seeks his lost maternal love...

This drama is clearly based on the "halo effect" of 2 popular actors. The thing is they have zero chemistry. Also, they promote along Zhao Qing who appears everywhere lately!
I don't feel Zhong Ming's or Xie Xiuchen's feelings for the FL...He just suddenly turns attracted to her. But Wang Duo's expressions convey very deep feelings. And it's ironic since his role is supposed to not understand love. So the FL looks like the woman who gets obsessed by carnal passion not a sense of connection. Maybe these misaligned patterns are intentional: they make Tianming/Nan Xuyue's character even more tragic and relatable to the hurdles of a common human in this era... Beautiful drama!
Japanese military have been utterly cruel in WWII ! After the war, the economy has grown. But the Japanese working class has been silently suffering to support their manufacturing giants. And now, it shows that they can't handle their economic crisis for 3 decades! Truly despicable! I will not support any more Japanese products. I grew up watching the romanticized Japan, in the 90s...So fake. Even their cinematic art and manga are an abomination.
I just noticed that Yin Tao is also the director of Blood of Youth! Both Blood of River and BoY are my favorites! And his other works are phenomenal! Dashing youth has a different style, and didn't engage me to watch...
In ep.8, Li Daikun says the lines of Gong Jun to relay his message. It just strikes me how much more emotion he carries, how much power in his lines! I would like to see him as Su Muyu and Gong Jun as Mu Ciling.
