How’s it fake and cheap, could you elaborate a little more on that?
It took so long for it to be released, that I was expecting nothing short of spectaclar! But, I guess many people put their bets on it, they had conflicting opinions on how to execute it, and this is a blend of directionless ideas.

The visual FX are not convincing of an alternate realm. The settings are rather simple and looking cheap. The costumes look cheap. Color grading in this Autumn colour looks fake. Because it is too bright, instead of moody coppers/golden hour. And the editing looks bad. The scenes don't change seemlessly and they are out of focus regularly.
It's horrible. Even if there's nothing airing that I'm interested in, I wouldn't waist my time on this. It looks fake and cheap. The funny elements are immature. Acting is sub-par. I liked most of the actors in other dramas, so it must be the director's fault.
I want a 2nd ML in my life that is rich and looking gorgeous, like Situ Ling and many others in those dramas! Who are unconditionally devoted and not abusive like the ML usually is. But in reality, all I get is men who are atrocious and poor that covet me, and then the gorgeous guy is taken or not interested...Why???
Very emotional drama! FL is strong and confident, ML is caring and romantic! It is an ode to peace! War and hatred is ignorance. In past lives, in alternative turn of events, we could all be friends, family, lovers.
I think comparisons between two dramas are irrelevant as at the end of the day it all boils down to your personal…
They are not irrelevant. They both deal with demons. LGIEF is juvenile and lacks any emotion. It regards demons as something outside of the human race that either we ignore or fight them. FoF has a very mature approach. Demons are facets of our being. They are essential parts for our growth and maturity. They are our "masters" in the sense they teach us how to master our power and eventually die/disappear when we've outgrown them. Love is not a game in FoF like LGIEF. It takes time and development of feelings.
As it progresses, it gets disappointing. There is no climax in dramatic elements and emotions. The ML lead just cares about his wife-to-be. And when he complains that she avoids him, she makes a U-turn and after a few minutes, she confesses to him, like a friend. And then, they consummate...I mean, it doesn't evolve...
I love the drama so far! First time watching ML and FL nd I'm impressed! Very intriguing pace by by the director.
