The animated version's story is so good it makes 'Joy of life' feel like a children's story, to me it rivals even the prominent live-action wuxia dramas that are highly praised. So if the acting isn't off, this is going to be LEGENDARY.

If Muyung Sheng didn't use his powers this season when his loved ones needed him, why would he use them in season 2? The only person he's willing to fight against is his more powerful self which he conquers every time, but he loses to useless people.

Just starting season 2, must say I liked and prefer the darkness and eeriness of Soul Hall in season 1.

You WILL pick them up, they just wouldn't be bothersome, like an out & out relationship.
Plus the untamed is not a quick entertainment story, it's a deep story that draws your interest. I dropped it on my first watch because the lead's behavior in the first episode. On my second watch I read some reviews that praised the story itself, so I gave it a try and they were RIGHT. Once it gets your interest all the negative fall apart. Usually you are scared when bad things happen in a story, this story will make you appreciate how they are presented.

Watch the untamed, I was hesitant because of its BL tag too. If there was no BL tag, you wouldn't notice it. It's presented as a strong friendship not romance, so it's not bothersome to someone who doesn't want to watch BL.
