Fu Yunxi really listens to a woman and I can't fault him for that. She said she wanted a pragmatic marriage and he's giving her what she asked for. He can't guess her change of heart. He's not omnipotent. Give the guy a break. It's not enough he's suppressing his emotions to cater to her wants, why should he be browbeated for not wild guessing her need for love?

Will the episodes be enough? The wedding will probably take place in ep19. That leaves us with 11 ep to fall in love, solve the pei case, survive schemes, bring her father(?) to justice and live happily ever after. So up till 19 they have to at least disclose the reason he's spitting blood and maybe find who killed his wife?

He would have been a cad had he done that. The ep hasn't aired yet, so I'm sure the preview is part of something bigger.

I think he's right to suggest that deal.He can't offer her a family (since he's dying) and he wants a protector for his daughter. She's more that capable and doesn't expect him to love her. Any other woman would demand his attention. He also tells her that 's all he offers unless her dream is a family. He's still not in touch with his feelings and it's a good thing since he can't afford to be emotional, especially with his daughter's future at stake

I love the fact that she still doesn't like him. Not hate per se, just enmity. There's no, "oh I 'll make it look like I hate you, but drool whenever I see you". And he's good at admiring without looking smitten.
