I loved ep 31! Pearl is pure joy and it comes so naturally to the actress that it looks genuine! I liked how confused TM is, bereft of emotions, compared to Pearl's newfound abilities that she's not aware of. Her innocence made the incorporation of the information about the divinity of the artifacts seamless and necessary. And of course, we get to see our CP falling oh so subtly in love again that the forthcoming feelings of betrayal will be justified in their intensity

I don't know about the novel. As you have already noticed in the drama NXY wants the FL who wants the ML. And that's been the driving force of everything. Now if that causes you intense distress then maybe this drama is not your cup of tea.

There was always a love triangle albeit an unfulfilled one. It's what started all this story. Also I like the greyness of the 2ML's character. I don't hate him. I don't condone his actions either. I don't live though the drama, the drama is part of my entertainment and I want my characters 3D not caricatures. Someone mentioned the 2ML in The Double. I loved the way he was portrayed. Flawed and delusional. In Scent of Time the ML's antiques didn't sit well with me but it made him more on par with the FL who was waaaay not the perfect heroine

Can I just say how glad I am the actress agreed to some bare skin showing and lots of kisses? It makes a hell of a df when you're trying to appear seductive (think of courtesans) especially compared to the norm. Also I love the non-fish kisses. I still hope though we'll get some french kissing in cdrama, but maybe it'll take a couple of years for that
