I'm unfamiliar with both leads so I only watched it because of some good reviews on tiktok, reading that the plot and characters are sober and have potential or smt. But didnt expect the drama is so good and mostly rational. I also watched Zhou Ye's other dramas because of BFTB including this SOT. But SOT made me watch not just for an actor anymore but the plot, even willing to look past the low budget-ness and other shortcomings in the set sksksks

Bad for you coz you'll know lots of details and meanings you myt've missed, but still good for you coz there are also nasty things there. The spoilers don't even cause me a headache compared to other stuff.

Well, I thought HRZ pretty much knows abt it and feels it. As I said he long accepted there's nothing for HQ and him so he didnt think much of the noodles. The medicine bottle already hinted that HQ does like ZXW after all. YES TO OPEN ENDING but it's really a no for HRZ since it's a dream

Real. The dream thing actually made me hooked since day 1 but I wonder how a proper ending will be squeezed in this one last episode.

True, I saw lots of complaints on TTEOTM but was like, is it y'all's first time? Both Historical and xianxia have a degree in this. hahaha

Lol same. It's so cute that Hua Qian and Yanhui are two smart, sober, and strong FLs I like the most so far and both are Zhou Ye's roles. She seems to choose her roles properly that even if the drama has its own shortcomings, her character herself is pretty impressive. Her leading roles are all pretty much smart and strong in their own way since ep. 1. That's why I start looking forward to her dramas coz most of the time I only care about how the FL is as a protagonist

HRZ accepted FL saying she doesnt have time for love and he went to her on his own accord. I don't think blaming it on FL is good coz before the banquet fiasco they agreed to go wherever and however FL wants to live. HRZ accepted it and even told ZXW he has nothing to lose so he's ok with looking for her forever. The two acted like mere companions with HRZ being more gentle coz HQ is still a lady after all. Nothing indicates that they have something. Plus the noodle is something that the ML deserves. Instead of a love token, why not see it as a thank you or even an answer to his question of what she thinks of him? HQ also sent that not scared of him doing something stupid again like going back because she trusts him now, which may also be one reason for the noodle. She knows it's their last time seeing each other.

yes I know abt this but since we get diff endings in some novel-adapted dramas it means the producers tweaked the story. But in SOT the plot progressed pretty much the same which also lessened my fear of a BE.

I am too. As an angst watcher, I never watched the dramas I love the most twice coz there are all angst espcly in endings. But the high rewatch value that happy ending dramas usually win in will also help the actors' careers a lot. But since so far the SOT cast already had enough traffic since 1st week, I'm ready for sad ending as long as it makes sense. Also, this drama has a rebirth cliche of a start but turns out in the end it's not. This is my first time to encounter this so it's so exciting to me.

The ending also depends on the budget sometimes. I saw a lot of cdramas with rushed endings and/or one that dosnt make sense. It's like the depleting budget also depleted the producer & writer's brain cells. I'm scared that it might happen with the already low budget since ep.1 Scent of Time. But ofc hope not. Coz ppl on weibo r always ready to thrash Yu Zheng

At least when ZXW shone brightly in these past episodes I dismissed the thought that only Zhou Ye carried the whole play. WXY's performance made me want to finally check a male actor's drama list out which I only did for female actors before this.

These novel authors don't give a damn about audiences' feelings when deciding to write SE to begin with. So when these novels get adapted to dramas the screenwriters rack their brains on choosing OE and SE, coz the viewers will bark a lot which will affect rating and rewatch value kekeke

Yes as an angst drama watcher, it doesnt even matter to me anymore if Fl ends up with anyone or not. Seeing ZXW know she also thinks of him and lets go is enough for me. I'm long ready for the waking-up-to-reality tomorrow. It's realistic nonetheless.

Same here. And I feel like if I were to be transmigrated to a world and body that were not mine, no matter how long and good I live I would still feel like an outsider/alien espcly that I can't tell anyone about it. So watching FLs go through stuff feels like watching her enter a simulation game, even the ML feels like a NPC

She can't defend herself physically coz she doesn't know martial arts but can definitely put enemies in their place. Zhou Ye seems to have all smart and strong leading roles nonetheless. At least her "putting others in their place" scenes (or face slapping as others call it) in this drama left me and some others on Weibo satisfied.

With so many discussions yesterday and the day before, watching ep. 29 made me feel it's really worth it to chase this show. I have no regrets. Can't wait for tomorrow's finale keke

I think not having a modern girl replace the orig evil FL is what made this drama more cruel to the heart. Which will be the most exciting to an angst viewer like me if only they didn't downgrade the character setting from Emperial palace to Merchant mansion
