It's the curse of reading comments before watching. The ep 28 feels like a filler but a necessary one. It looks like a filler coz there are 30% scenes of the FL but the 70% showed years of how ppl who cared about her were dealing with her death. This filler episode also brought me the most awaited warm feeling of seeing the FL finally feel at ease at her new home & life.

The synopsis on the page is of the novel. The drama "reborn" the same soul same FL not a modern time diff woman. The position and occupations of the titled characters r also changed. but the flow of the plot espcly the dream thing was pretty much the same.

I think the 2nd part of ur reply about the Mu thing wouldnt happen coz in the novel ZXW was the emperor and the girls in Zhong Garden are his concubines. While in the drama he is single. I haven't read the novel so I'm also not sure. But to put all the Mu thing with the HQ waking up from the dream thing in just 2 remaining episodes should be hard to pull off.
When is this gonna air coz my girl somehow has this all-year hiatus despite also filming all year. Her dramas and movies were only released in 2019, 2021, 2023 like it's on purpose. Hope it breaks the curse *sobs*
