no worries, i think majority of the ppl love the drama.. and found the pairing of the main couple works pretty well that many ppl have underestimated before. maybe i can recommend you to watch "love your enemy"?
I really love the first 2 eps already.. i was liked smiling, teary eyed, crying, laughing on repeat for the entire 2 eps.. like it's just brilliant how the drama made you feel.. Both husband and wife characters are very lovable and this drama won't be just about them, it'll be also involved the characters around them... this gonna be good.
he will a supporting role but more like special appearance.. his character will be one of the those male characters that will be used by the female lead to do stuff for her.. there's already confirmation news about him joining. he posted about finished filming his part on his ig story a month ago.

dear x is a pre-produced series.. they actually plan to wrap it up by the end of this month (where initially it should be on march..not sure why the delay), but since with Dohoon's incident,, not sure how they gonna finish it up... some actors have finished filming their parts (like Rena, Inyeop also Kim JiHoon..)...not sure about Youngdae,, since he has also started filming another drama already..

yep that's the thing, it's matter of preferences, not coz his acting was so bad.. it's all depend on the storyline, the role he got, n some other factors.. haha actually i'm one of those who like the forbidden marriage.. and his role :D, one of my fave roles of his.., i just love how he portrayed as both miserable & sad king also could be comedic & silly too, then turned romantic too , like the role in this is so different from joo seok hoon/oh nam ju.. like wow he could pull it off after those heavy roles.. so i'm pretty impressed..n yes i remember he got so much praise for his joo seok hoon role at the time..
yea right.. yoojung.. i read somewhere that she ever did this type of role before in a movie when she was younger.. but she's already a veteran.. so i'm sure she can do well.. also her visual fits the character, Ahjin.

actually there are comments like "he's good in comedic/romcom role, like him in romcom more than the serious one", also "he's better in serious role than in comedic role", so actually there are always mix reactions bout him in those dramas he's in.. i think that could be mean that he is able to portray different kind of roles quite well..n there are ppl enjoy how he portrays the roles..
so now he's gonna go back to his penthouse/MITD role after the soft-spoken & calm guy in his latest drama, i'm excited.

just like i explained above, this character in dear x has similar vibe to his previous roles like in penthouse and moon in the day (if you watched these two).. i believe he'll do well.. and wish that he'll show even better.. and prove you & other people wrong..so you people can appreciate his effort more.. just like how he did with the drama with shin min ah..
still i found it funny that ppl keep saying him for having same roles... that's why i reacted that way and explained to you each of his leading roles have been quite diverse.. even some news articles back then reported him of having to challenge himself to take comedic role for shooting stars after the cold hot tempered role for penthouse..n viewers found him interesting that he could also act in comedy pretty well..
not that i want to pick a fight, but just to explain how i did see him in those roles which are quite different from one to another, i just don't understand where the "he always get same roles or same acting" coming from..it just feels liked we don't watch the same shows he's in... but okay~peace~

(i can think of other actors who hv mostly the same roles but i chose not to out of respect to the fans who love him/her) how so? i've been watching him since his appearances in EOY until the latest no gain no love... he has quite versatile roles so far.. of coz not some heavy roles yet like he needed to show emotional/tantrum scenes in all episodes..(but for example in the forbidden marriage, he did balance in between comedic & emotional scenes, he did pretty good there). i was just recently becoming his fan coz of no gain no love, he surprised & impressed me coz he used to act as cold, tantrum, emotional (penthouse, EOY), goofy, loud, funny, romantic, emotional in shooting stars & TFM), annoying, spoilt brat, cool, cold, depressed ( he acted 2 characters in MITD), I can totally feel he's acting all differently in all the dramas. he played all the roles quite different from one another. i can feel that he's a different person in each of the characters.
btw.. so tired reading comment like " most of his dramas are carried by the leading ladies.." like.. not just his dramas, but any other dramas.. don't u know that his latest drama with shin min ah, many fond of their chemistry? many love their pairing after initially majority ppl were against them specially him when the casting news was out back in 2023.. how awful those comments were, but then after the drama aired.. many were surprised n impressed by how well their chemistry was.. n they matched each other so well.... don't u also know that him acted as a NIS agent in cheat me if you can (he was in it alongside with penthouse at the time n ppl could feel how different his roles are in those two dramas), he also got praised for his acting alongside with the veteran actress cho yeo jeong who's much older than he is back then? he even won netizen award for that role at the time.. coz his character stole the show which mean his acting impressed many viewers.
maybe it's all just back to personal preferences.. for me, he's been showing quite different range in acting in all his roles so far. but in the end of the day, i really hope his acting for dear x will prove you wrong, but even if he doesn't , it still doesn't mean that his acting is bad, it's just not suitable with your taste or preference, just like how i found some famous actors but i don't feel it in their portrayals but don't mean they're bad actors, just not up to my personal standard, but most of the time i just enjoy a lot of dramas with any kind of actors/actresses. as a kdrama enjoyer since the 2000s, for me personally, he's a pretty good actor, i watched all his dramas before n i think he did pretty good job until the latest one which impressed me the most and i became his fan.
