Sounds a bit like The Matrix but yes the scriptwriter is the main antagonist trying to steer the story and fix…
more relaxed compared to Matrix. Actually, it's a brilliant parody on costume dramas production and a great guessing game for the audience tnx to the clues gradually popping out

The method is unattainable even in the OG script. It only serve as the purpose so NH will trick SYM to fall in…
now I've checked again. It's true the incomplete formula handed by SGH contained Fe, probably Fe2O3 + 3CO = 2Fe + 3CO2, I've registered only the second one and thought they were the same.
So weird, where did she get the other one?
I've rewatched the entire ep 13 but still can't catch those verses...

I haven't noticed any poem, but I remember the chemical elements FL extracted from the that old book. They were written with modern international symbols, btw., not as smth. belonging to ancient China...
That's why I thought these formula were to hint us the scriptwriter's sloppiness
On A Dream within a Dream Jul 9, 2025
I've read many comments asking themselves why should the scriptwriter appear in the remaining storyline.
Imo, we've got several clues about his nonsensical writing and sloppiness. In the 1st ep., he is the person who insists on sc. "iconic scenes" (one more wicked than the other) stating: "the audience likes this over-the-top, messy drama". He is already present, not as a person but as "deus ex machina", a typing sound that enforces the "iconic scenes" to happen, no matter the story already took its own path - independently of him - with the change of characters' psychological traits, with the change of their actions, choices and mutual relations. Adding more nonsense to the nonsense he had written in the first place.
His sloppiness was hinted with the formulas in the old book (gifted to NH by CGH when they were children) as a method of resistent sword forging, MgSO4 and ZnSO4 (note the use of modern symbols) are just common fungicides, unrelated to metallurgy.

The only reason why would he appear as a person is to retake control over the mess (he created himself) and bring the characters back, in check, because he was tasked to re-write the original script but can't present it in such a messy condition. He maybe has chosen to appear as CGH's father, bc. CGH went south the most, far from a good guy (the 2nd leads are good guys) he created, hoping CGH will calm down if sees his father is still alive.

Finally and hopefuly, I doubt such a laughable person will be able to put any of the characters in check.

Ep 32, shows the wits differences between SYM and NH. SYM is always trying to avoid and run from the script, which…
"he plots against the plots", so well said!👌

The formula in the old book stands for magnesium and zinc sulphates (MgSO4 and ZnSO4), both well-known fungicides.
I think these formulas were used to hint to the audience (at least to those with some chemistry knolewdge) the scriptwriter in the drama is a sloppy, nonsensical person

I forgot about that omg...Hope they will use that again...
It may happen in ep 39, marked with three swords

now I recall, where did the “method of forging weapon” plot go? it just disappeared. Is this a plot device?…
If I were SYM, the first question I'd ask the scriptwriter after meeting him in tomorrow's ep would be about the lack of clues and documentation on sword forging. The only formula she got from the book gifted by CGH to NH when they were children was the formula of magnesium and zinc sulphates (MgSO4 and ZnSO4), used in medicine and agriculture (against parasyites and mycosis), telling him he should at least have done some research on metal forging before writing nonsense.

But the real scriptwriter probably put that formula as to tell us to be wary of his "fictional scriptwriter", bc. he is prone to write nonsense and insists on his nonsense...

Kudos to the sound/music department in this production. Every song, melody and sound perfectly blends, builds up and completes the storytelling. And every time I hear the sound of "typing mechanism" I think: this is the modern sound of the "deus ex machina"! 👌

yup, they've all survived stabbing. She jumped from the fortress later but didn't die, just became an invalid.…
well, the whole drama and espc. "the iconic scenes" (we were supposed to like while we actually don't) are meant to create a sort of guessing game for the audience "what will happen next?", "will or how will this 'iconic scene' happen in a re-written scenario?", making the drama a parody of its genre and certainly more enjoyable (and subject to interactive discussions on the platforms as well).

Actually, not even one "iconic scene" (including the initial ones) happened exactly as it was written in the first script, only apparently, they all happen only tnx to the "typing sound mechanism" which blinds the viewer (and FL in particular) making the scene to appear as inevitable.

Okay hear me out, when she knew that plot can’t be avoided, why didn’t they take a physician in the bridal…
my thoughts exactly, they've both poorly handled the danger they knew all about

the person who sent Doctor Zhao and knock out Chu Guihong, is it the scriptwriter???
Can't be anybody else. He is in the body of Lord Qianyu, a military doctor would not take orders from anybody else except from him and CGH

yup, they've all survived stabbing. She jumped from the fortress later but didn't die, just became an invalid. "Iconic scenes" are a bunch of horror garbage passed as "over-the top, messy thing the audience like", lol

That fan spreading feathers looks familiar, think it was used in A Journey to Love spreading leaves (one leaf accidentaly sticked to LYN's face 🤦‍♀️ , later it was decided to keep the scene 👌)

TTEOTM says :"hold my 🍺"https://kisskh.at/693513-hei-yue-guang-wen-na-be-ju-ben
TTEOTM is probably worth watching if you like to heavily invest your imagination in plotholes and interpretation of weird characters' behaviour. It is not a guessing game, as ADWAD or Lost You Forever, you must imagine things that you don't see in the drama and create explanations in your head practically out of nothing. That "creative work" viewers ought to do (and then shared with other viewers) is probably the reason why it was so discussed.
But if you prefer to be an audience-audience (ie. not interested to exercise your own creativity while watching a drama) like me, you won't like it.
Besides, the description "over-the-top, messy drama" mentioned by the "scriptwriter" in ADWAD perfectly fits to TTEOTM, it holds a record for blood spitting, Bai Lu's screaming, everything is super exaggerated (colours, tones...) and may actually be very irritating

Veil of Shadows has 90k+ comments and it's not even out yet, not even a trailer 🤣
I've seen GJM Painted Skin, on its MDL's page (surprisingly) it isn't particularly discussed, I didn't know about this adaptation...

TTEOTM and Immortality have a ton of comments.Lost You Forever ...47K+ and 18k+ over two parts, as well as double…
Thank you a lot. BL subjects, especially if banned, do attract a lot of discussion, it's understandable.
As for LYF, I remember I've also enjoyed it (great Yang Zi's acting and mesmerising chemistry with Tan Janci) and can understand why it was so discussed, the plot, or better, her complex relations with three MLs, divided the audience in 3 fanbases (whom will she chose?) and it was also a sort of guess game how it will all end up.
